M5 Officially Official: The BMW M5 F10.

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
Does anyone else get the feeling that this new M5 although a beautiful looking car.
Is just fallen from the podium?
In terms of being the undisputed king of the 4 door sedans, and just being the awe of the industry.

Somehow it feels tame to me, or maybe the competition has cought up. Now that we have serious RS, AMGs and last but not least Porsches in the mix.

They've certainly taken a different approach this time , now its more of a allrounder than Sport. Comfort is higher on the list than sport. Top on that its like 100 kg heavier.

^yep.. its not as raw anymore.

The E39 was the perfect balance imo, then the E60 was brutal..a high revving V10 in a saloon?! (crazy)
It might have been to raw, but still it had attitude. I liked it
But this one has gone on to the softer side of the spectrum, and its a shame.
But hey this is the way they want to go, and you guys should expect the same from the upcoming M3.

It has now become a car on par with the rest, so its just up to personal taste which one you choose, as its only small things that set them apart.

Past times you was seen as a fool not to take the M5 over the competition, as it was just so much better.
Only way you could justify it in the past was that you had massive hate for BMW, or massive love for MB/Audi.

All im saying is. The choice is not as obvious as before!

^Or maybe they can differentiate now that they split it into 2 cars.

M3 and M4..making the coupe more of a true M car?.

Lets hope and see.

I think the M5 and M6 being more rounded this time, not to mention them being SO much better looking is what attracted me to BMW this time around. These Ms may not be pure anymore, but they're stunning cars IMO. That M6 GC is the king of the bunch.

I was at a BMW dealer yesterday as I'm toying with getting an F10 as it's been tugging at my heart strings lately.

Saw a few F10 M5's. My biggest beef with the car is that it doesn't have much if at all more presence than a 535i with M Sport Package. Makes me really have more love for the 535i with M Sport Package though, as the M5 resemblance gives it a more exotic look than a non M Sport F10. This is in contrast to the AMG kitted E-Class which doesn't look special or exotic at all anymore simply due to how M-B WHORES the AMG Package out in the U.S, therefore it's become the "standard look", totally normal and common. At least the M Sport Package is still relatively rare, though not rare enough anymore to make the M5 really stand out....

I guess a catch 22 there.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
