7 Series (G11) [Official] BMW 7 Series (G11/12)

The BMW G11 is the sixth generation of the BMW 7 Series, produced from 2015 to 2022. Model codes: G11 (short-wheelbase version), and G12 (long-wheelbase version) luxury saloons, collectively referred to as the G11. Production: July 2015–2022. Model years: 2016–2022.
Would you believe this is the 1/18 scale model?
That looks really nice, great paint quality, uniform and tight shut lines especially around the front grills. Which company makes this model?

I'm not sure how the 7er's sales are doing, but I hope it teaches BMW a lesson to put their best foot forward. Somehow BMW has been convinced that the 7er customer wants mediocre design. Don't get me wrong, its a handsome car but for $130K it should be a head turner.

This is coming from a person who loves BMW or the idea of what BMW is capable of. But it is disappointing to have to wait a 7 or 8 year life cycle to be underwhelmed by minimum changes in terms of design.

Interesting, are they are new company? The model G11 looks impressive, similar to a high end Kyosho and miles better than the garbage being produced by Minichamps. Their 1/18 BMW M4 GTS is a joke.

MINICHAMPS are producing the BMW M2 for BMW.

I just don't like this 7er HVAC and iDrive design. It's filtered up from the 3er, it's unsophisticated diametrically opposed line design. It's aweful. But I have hope for its application in a more compact 5er. Holding thumbs..

You are actually presented with space unlike some slab fronted rivals. Its deliberately designed to give you the impression of a minimalist lounge. Everything is spread out evenly rather than being cluttered together.
The Haptic's on the new 7er are exceptional and switchgear is easy to use as is the iDrive which is the best comprehensive info and entertainment interface in the segment.

Disagree with everything you've stated except for iDrive, which is fantastic. Everything else is a let down.

What I find interesting is the amount of complaints here for the G11/G12 interior when suggestions of the E38.
When they are somewhat similar except one is addressed to today's requirements of technology not stuck in the nineties.

Man i loved that 7er, it was so sleek in and out, like tailormade high class suit, opposed to the blunt W140..
I wish the 7ers that came after could have that aura..

Should have been picking up a G11 7 Series in 45 minutes (my first time driving one), but just had a call that there is a fault with the engine, so it has to go to the service department. Not good.

They're trying to find a replacement before the day ends.

So, disaster averted. I've just collected a nicely equipped BMW 730d G11. First time I'm going to experience the G11. Driving around 2,000km this weekend, so plenty of time to try it out.

Keep us posted, mate! Really interested in reading your review, after the experience you have with other cars in the segment.
