7 Series (G11) [Official] BMW 7 Series (G11/12)

The BMW G11 is the sixth generation of the BMW 7 Series, produced from 2015 to 2022. Model codes: G11 (short-wheelbase version), and G12 (long-wheelbase version) luxury saloons, collectively referred to as the G11. Production: July 2015–2022. Model years: 2016–2022.
I don't think any engine is new in the G11, and all are reworked existing ones.

Looking good:

I thought I read somewhere the I6 petrol is a rather new engine. Not a first timer in G11, but new (1 year old?). The I6 diesel is several years old now.

Aah yes, the I6 gasoline engine is the new modular version first seen in the 3er LCI.
With double Vanos, Valvetronic, hpi, twin scroll and the whole 9 yards.
326 hp, 6,6 - 7,0 liter per 100 km.

And just when we were talking about the Alpina B7...

Scott, Is the Alpina considered now a part of BMW like AMG is of Mercedes?
I see that Alpina actually has early access to new BMW models. Even the Camo seems the same... Is it a real branch of BMW now?

@HMS, do you have any side profile pics of the white Pure Excellence so we can get a real-life idea of the chrome hockey stick?

unfortunately i don’t have a proper picture. this is the best that it gets :(

HMS, you drive a S-class today but changing to the new 7-series?
and some say S-class owners do not change to another brand :D

i don’t drive an S class, although i rented it for about 2 weeks. i canceled my order in the last minute and successfully got a refund. MB dealership is one of the worst if not THE worst dealership here. everything about them is a complete joke.

in my first visit i requested to see the colour "anthracite blue".. the salesman arrogantly replied with a smirk on his face “oh no no, it only comes with the S600, you can’t order it” ...the next day they had an anthracite blue S400 displayed in their showroom LOL!
they didn’t even let me test drive the car because allegedly it’s already out with a customer and it will take her more than 30min. << :t-crazy2:

i was not being taken seriously, their staff is completely unprofessional. i as a customer had to find the options code online myself and take it back to them lol. my entire order consisted of mistakes with countless meaningless trips to the dealer to fix them and sign again, that’s when i’ve had enough.

sorry for the off topic rant, but i really despise this dealer.

I was thinking the same thing. That would have made you famous.

Next time! And don't forget to touch the buttons with your nose!

i don’t think there is a next time :(, i would be pushing it if i request to see it again. now i am waiting for them to email me my order details and my next visit will probably consist of me signing papers.

i did try to touch the buttons again, this time with the back of my hands.. still not sure if they are actually metal. :eusa_thin

No, they are not. In fact, they explicitely call themselves manufacturer but not tuner or so.
But the connection is very tight and their niche very specific (comfortable and ecological sport) and held open for them.

No Alpina is still an Individual manufacturer and has always been.

I do not think there would be a takeover as both companies are happy where everything is at. It is difficult to understand where Alpina could fit in especially when we have BMW M and BMW individual.
In other words this is the M7 you will see.
If you think attention to detail on the 7er is sheer perfection just imagine the exclusivity of Alpina being let loose.
Of course there will be performance and outstanding dynamic agility and all enhanced thanks to the new lighter 7er.

We have a good working relationship and yes Alpina help in some engine development areas and are first to investigate a new model before anyone else outside BMW.
They are also a tuner BMW has not instigated legal action against.

The last Alpina fared horribly in comparisons against the competitors. I hope this one makes amends... weight wise they will be very similar; the only hope is the low center of gravity due to the carbon core architecture...

Wish they made this thing in a swb in the U.S. Could have been my next car msport in sing grey especially with the sport exhaust included in the pack . Wonder how the sound will compare to my 650...great time to be a buyer so many interesting products across the premium brands.

This is one of the many untold beauty scenes of the new 7er rarely seen or discussed.
If you look at the headlight you see the eyebrow and the lower reflector of the Laser Light shrinking the size of the actual unit. That it looks sleeker and slimmer than you would expect.

I honestly cannot wait to see it on the roads, though part of me is still wishing that they would make a proper AMG rival...Oh well, at least it looks more understated this way
