SPIED: Is this possibly the upcoming BMW 7 Series LCI

My biggest problem with the 7 is that it tries to be a 3 series when it should be a 7. What I mean by that is that it should be loud big and in your face; like a fat NYC hedge fund manager or a DC lawyer.

I don't think the clientele want a lean svelte luxo barge. THey want it big; ostentatious and something that makes an entrance. The 7 tries to hide its girth by using very skinny lights and body lines; while the S has always been very imposing since the W140 (except the W220).

If my money was riding on this choice; I would probably end up with a 7; but would be hard pressed not to give a very long hard look at the S; especially in the S63 guise.

That said; I feel that the 7 is a far superior product; but when it comes to visual drama; it just does not hold a candle to the S....

S Class imposing? Not at all. What the S class does very well is manage to look like a much better version of it's smaller siblings. None of these cars are meant to be big loud and imposing they are meant to be the ultimate versions of the family face.

The S Class is in fact the car which pulls off the trick of looking a lot lighter and smaller than its dimensions suggest, whilst the 7 series definitely looks its size imo..and I'm not too sure where you get the backing to say the 7 is 'a far superior product' from too..

This is one OLD 7er prototype. Either it's an old photo or the prototype is being driven to the disposal facility.

License plates "M HX 1570" and further (incl M HX 1580, M HX 1578 etc) have been out for years now, attached to initial 7er FEP prototypes. Old prototypes. Really.

Here you have "M HX 1570" 7er spotted in Arjepolog, Sweden in January 2014:
2016 BMW 7-Series gets a chilly reception in Sweden

Or "M HX 1578" spotted @ the Ring in March 2015:
BMW 7 Series G12

So, the prototype with license plate "M HX 1580" is from the same bunch of 7er prototypes.

Well, that was anti-climatic.

yup, yup, "that's what she said."

So fellow 7er fans, I saw this (very nice) 7er yesterday, and I believe this is the first time I ever see the G11 with M pack, where the normally black pieces are made of shiny chrome:

Have I not been paying attention, or is this a new option? I really like it BTW, looks maybe even better than black bits on a dark car.

It's an unusual and rarer choice an M Sport with Chrome as the Shadow Line is the more preferable (and tasteful) option.

And just for a contrast. Cerium Grey.

Trying to keep this thread fresh with boring photos while the A8 debut is going on? I'm [half] joking.;) :p

God, this is so much easier on the eyes after visiting the A8 thread the whole day.....

So round and smooth......
