5 Series (G30/G31/G38) [Official] BMW 5-Series Touring (G31)

The BMW G30/G31/G38 is the seventh generation of the 5 Series. Officially announced in October 2016, sales began in February 2017. Production years: November 2016-2023. Body styles included: 4-door sedan/saloon (G30), 5-door wagon/estate (G31), and 4-door long-wheelbase saloon (G38).
Yep, Shines like hell after the treatment. The disadvantage is though that only manual car wash is allowed.

Lovely, I couldn't be absolutely sure because of the shade. One of my favorite colors on the 5er as it highlights some of the more subtle lines. How did you spec the interior?

I really like the Touring, it's fixes all the failings of the sedan, but why no hybrid wagon, Volvo has a T8 V90, VW has the Passat GTE wagon, but no Touring Hybrid, the G30 hybrid is a bit of a bargin in Norway, it's cheaper than the S90 T8 so where is the wagon, if they had one I'd look at it to replace my A6 Avant next year.

Packaging constraints probably. I think the battery in the 530e sits roughly where the fuel tank normally does, the actual fuel tank then gets shifted under the boot and reduces the available height by 100 litres or so.

In the Touring this would probably mean you couldn't have a flat load space when the seats are down.

Mercedes can also make a C hybrid in a wagon, E hybrid wagon is apparently on the way, so I don't buy that FWD v RWD excuse.

Boooo! Me neither!

Having said that...

The C350e T still has to make compromises, it's boot is 140 litres smaller than a C200 T with an additional step after the bootlip, and it seems clear from the moose test videos that having the battery that high up, and outside of the wheelbase does the handling no favours at all. I suspect the 330e would be as bad because the battery is also just under the boot floor. The 530e sees the battery much lower down and within the wheelbase... so better for weight distribution and for C of G. The battery pack in the 5 is also more than 40% higher capacity - so I'm guessing it's physically bigger too...

Or, ... maybe BMW would rather you just bought an X5 40e instead

I just don't want an SUV plus that's a bit higher for the dog to jump up and into the back, she's a big dog, jumping isn't her thing.
