4 Series (F32) [Official] BMW 4-Series Coupe

The first generation of the BMW 4 Series consists of the F32 (coupé version), F33 (convertible version) and F36 (five-door liftback version, marketed as 'Gran Coupé') compact executive cars. The 4 Series was created when BMW spun off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series into a separate series. Production: July 2013 – September 2020
Yes, agreed.
But if they raised the price of the car by calling it the 4series, and its is really a 3 series under the skin, they could have at least given the customers a slightly more differentiated interior for their bucks, so they felt like it was worth spending the extra cash.
Just my .2

Why should they? In both the E46 vs E46Ci and E90 vs E92 the coupe was more expensive than a similarly spec'ed sedan and the interior was a carbon copy.

^Yes i know but is it not so that the price hike is even larger now than the normal sedan to coupe ratio?

If not..then hey great interior:D

You are making it sound like BMW are doing something different than all the others which it isn't, it might appear to be similar in looks to the 3 series but the shell is entirely difference with no panel sharing that I can see, main dash and centre console appears to be very similar if not identical but door panels are definitely different.

If you look at the pricing difference between 3 and 4 and then compare with rival brands you find similar pricing structures in place, frankly I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill there.

Yes, but with E92 I bought some "individuality." E92 was not a common car which can be seen on every corner. Actually I even prefer my AW E92 with M package over my F10, but I never considered E90 because I don't like it.

Also E92 always had some premium "features" which E90 didn't have. For example:

E92 pre LCI: daytime running angel eyes, LED tail lights, iDrive with shortcuts (E90 pre-LCI didn't have anything of that)
E92 LCI: LED angel eyes, full LED tail lights (E90 LCI get features which E92 pre-LCI had)

So E90 was always one step behind. But now F30 and F32 are almost like copy / paste. F32 is only a 2 door version of a very common car, so is not a special car anymore.

^ I haven't actually compared the price diff between the 3er and 4er, with the C and E coupe, or A4 and A5.

Would be cool if someone could put that up, then we will see who is charging to much, and offering the least

I need to go to work now, or i would have put the numbers up.

^In the US the price ratio is again similar to that of Europe. I think we all need to do a search before jumping to conclusions on this subject and all others.

With same engine 4 series is 3.300e more expensive than 3 series, C class and E class coupe is about 1000e more than C and E sedans. That is the price in Germany. But in 4 series xenon are standard, C class coupe is carbon-copy of sedan in interior and exterior (-2 doors), and E class coupe is smaller than sedan, and is actualy based on C class.

The fact is that these two cars should be very similar, you never complained the E30/E36/E46/E90

No, because the Coupe wasn't called the "4 Series" then. The 2 Series is very different to the 1 Series. The 6 Series is very different to the 5 Series. Is it too much to think the 4 Series should be different to the 3 Series?

Yeah, maybe BMW should do fugly seat control buttons high up in the doors as well!!!

How very wrong you are. Whenever I carry passengers, by far the most trouble is encountered in the BMW's. Massively so. Putting the controls on the doors makes far more sense where you can see them. No doubt if BMW's were on the doors you'd say it made the most sense.

...and I dont want to hear lame excuses either. Focus on greater things, for example why the 4-series Coupe doesnt look like a Coupe seen from the side.....

Even E36 Coupé was more different than E36 Sedan compared to F32 vs. F30.

I`am trying to don't look at haters posts. And this one "Even E36 Coupé was more different than E36 Sedan compared to F32 vs. F30." is just that. Nothing more, nothing less.
