3 Series (F30) [Official] BMW 3-Series (F30)

The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series consists of the BMW F30 (sedan version), BMW F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') and BMW F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive cars. The F30/F31/F34 generation was produced from October 2011 to 2019 and is often collectively referred to as the F30. For the sixth generation, the coupé and convertible models were spun off to create the new BMW 4 Series nameplate.
BMW Australia is FINALLY waking up. They must be panicking on the eve of the C-class launch. The aged W204 C-class has outsold the 3 series here into its last year of production and the FL E-class is now outselling the 5-series almost 2 to 1. All because they couldn't pull their finger out of their A**es and recognise the Australian consumer want's more than a leather interior, bi-xenon headlights and an M-sports package on their 'premium' vehicle.

I don't get it. Is that standard equipment or do you not have an options list?

No Panic. Unless they improved the transmission and engine choices the C-Klasse has been singled out for.
If you want to know real panic from the industry today. Mercedes is overtly concerned the new 5er will have a greater edge in lightweight construction than the E-Klasse as for Mercedes to match the same specification. Mercedes need to be in full production of an i3-like car now.

We all know a new generation of engines is on the drawing board for the C. But that doesn't change the fact this is an obvious reaction of BMW AUSTRALIA to the launch of the C this month. And I've been saying it for 2 years now, BMW Australia have been completely out of touch with reality and this is reflected in the local sales figures.

Good to know Mercedes is aware of the weight problem, and no doubt it will be addressed. Probably one of the reasons why the E-class mules appear to be a bit delayed.

And others are asleep? BMW will soon have the new generation B48/B58 4 and 6 cylinder engines. Audi has a couple of very potent Turbo V6s it can source from Porsche Macan if it chooses to. Mercedes is chronically behind when it comes to engines in some segments. It is 8 years since BMW introduce N54 and 5 since N55 and if you go to MBUSA.com today they still don't have a competitive TT 6 cylinder engine for sale today here in the US.

BMW Australia is an insignificant tiny dot on BMW's map. Much like BMW Netherlands.
Not important in the grand scheme of things, and certainly not important for an international car forum with members from everywhere.

LOL. And suddenly, Europe doesn't seem so expensive anymore...

Say that to a Norwegian.
Heck, a fully loaded 328i will end up around the Australian price here in the Netherlands. Maybe a tiny bit less (or more!), I don't know the exchange rate.

Just took a look, a base 328i Touring is 74k $ AUS in NL. 90k is easy.

We will see what BMW will offer at the next generation of 5- and 7-Series.

BMW 3-Series M Sport Style Edge

Available exclusively in Japan
BMW Japan is introducing the 3-Series M Sport Style Edge special edition which will be available for the Sedan and Touring models.

It seems BMW customers in Japan love special models as in the past years there have been numerous special BMWs offered in limited numbers. The latest example is a 3-Series called "M Sport Style Edge" available for the sedan and estate body styles. It celebrates the compact model's 40th anniversary and comes fitted as standard with the M Sport Package combined with an M Performance black kidney grille and Ferric Grey 18-inch wheels.

Clients have to choose between 320i, 320i xDrive and 320d models which all come with an 8-speed automatic transmission and 184 PS (135 kW). The attached photos show the sedan wearing an Alpine White exterior paint scheme while the more practical Touring has a Mineral Grey hue.

The interior cabin has received BMW Individual trim with piano black accents and Pearl Gloss Chrome accent trim along with stainless steel pedals and black leather-wrapped seats.

BMW Japan says they will make only 330 units of the 3-Series M Sport Style Edge special edition.
