CRAP
What is up with the black mirrors? I know that the 1 series, for some of the models, has it but why the 3er?
Cost cutting. If you want LED, you can buy it as an option I'm sure. Now you know where BMW's high prodit margins come from.
EMpower said:I don't understand why BMW will put the NAV screen sticking out like a half iPad. Trust me, we will hear stories of how someone's car window got broken and NAV screen all bent forward because the dumb thug thought he can just pull the screen out, because that's exactly how it looks. In US they will break the window even if you leave empty bag in the car.
It's a very good looking car, but I'm slightly disappointed by the finish and details quality. It lacks the finesse that you see in every single Audi model.
I think Christopher Weil did a better job on the 5er GT which looks fantastic for what it is.
The interior is a mess, just like every new BMW modell except the 5er and the 7er. The sketch above gives a good idea of how the design came to be. I'm sad that it's sometimes so hard to translate a sketch into reality. And it's not (always) a lack of competence from the design side.
There are a lot of good ideas on every corner of the car, but the all lack the final touch.
Anyways, cars are never designed based on photos, but on a physical model. So I'm gonna wait and have my final thoughts when seeing the car in person
Mixed feelings @ first, but it looks good although I expected more E46 tightness. And suddenly it struck me as BRILLIANT!
.

Man, you guys are going easy on this thing, so I'll bite.
To current BMW model status, it's a mess IMO.
