2 Series [Official] BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé (F44)

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.
This looks more like a saloon than a sedoup. It has a very high boot line and bonnet line creating too much body work above the wheels. Front looks ok much better than the 1series, but the back once again on a BMW looks fugly and OTT with clamshell bootlid and very thin lights much like the 8GC spoils the overall look and makes it less pretty. CLA and A-class sedan look much nicer than this.

Rarely in these videos I hear that they express feelings for the design of a particular car, but in this and Tomas, they do not hesitate to mention effusively that they like it a lot and why they like it.
I think it's a car that must see IRL to really appreciate it

The front end is very strong and well designed. It almost makes the 3-Series look a bit dated and conservative. I think this car will look good ok in the metal if you don't mind the weird rear half of the car.

Success will be decided by the finance offers. The 3-Series is a fleet Favorite an high volume car that is easy to find on a cheap lease. Ideally the 2-Series grancoupe won't be like the X1, which is more expensive than its bigger sibling once you had a decent engine and nice to have options.

By far the most disappointing BMW new model introduction in a good while.

The front passes as a bmw, but from the side and the rear its totally anonymous, the hofmeister kink has gone and so have the rear L shaped tail lights! what's next , the kidney grille?

Kill it with fire... at least the exterior. And this is from someone who grew up loving BMWs. The interior is pretty cool especially with those sport seats. I hope this thing and the next 4 series flop badly so BMW can correct some of its design trajectory.

CLA hands down for me. The BMW is a reincarnated Ford Focus.

M

Gosh, it really does look like a 2003 Ford Focus sedan with BMW elements slapped onto it.
And those wannabe 8 series details it has makes it look even more like a Chinese clone.

I hope this thing and the next 4 series flop badly so BMW can correct some of its design trajectory.

The 4er will be perfectly proportioned like a true BMW though. The details will make or break that one, and I right now think they will really make it.

CLA and A-c...

No they don't. The CLA, A, B and A sedan all look miserable. FWD doesn't work on BMW cars and doesn't on Mercedes cars either. It's a disaster PER DEFINITION.

I do however think the CLA looks less cheap than the 2er GC. But they both suck very, very much. Just get a Golf if you want FWD. Get over it.

BTW guys......am I allowed to start about the hood shutline? Or am I hitting a dead horse here?

Should have kept the rear lights from the new 1er.
and please fix the steering feel.
