2 Series [Official] BMW 2 Series (F22) Coupe

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.

After my E46 320Cd bought in 2004 I was planning buying this new 2 series.
But with this rear end I will never even considering it.
That huge rear bumper, with a massive black insert fore the M-sport pack, and terrible lights is really (n)
I am a real BMW fanatic but I will never spent my money on something like this. Instead I will wait two more years and buy a second hand 4 series.

I think I LOVE it. But I've always had a soft spot for this miniature BMW coupe. It looks like a real pocket rocket!

I'll take it with a mineral grey exterior and coral red interior thank you!

I'm black so perhaps I'm preconditioned to like big butts, this doesn't seem so ungainly. I agree that there is no reason for that black strip, other than the accountant who smiled devilishly at the prospect of upcharging everyone for the "option" to have it body coloured.

Looks "better" in the last pics. If it wasn't for those rear fenders and that rear it could have been a real winner!

Okay, got to admit, I had low hopes for this one. Hated the front light design. But now, seeing the whole product, got to say I love it! Damn what a handsome little fellow! Still prefer the 4- and 6-series looks, but this is right up there too though! BMW is on fire indeed!

OK so the EBII colour does indeed improve the bumper/diffuser but not feeling the lights.

Overall, a great looking car.

No xDrive as yet but LSD is confirmed as an accessory available at launch. Suggests M235i "exclusive" whatever that means.

I'd have to get the 228i...3,000 lbs is my arbitrary limit for how heavy a sporting car should be.

So the M235i costs $44,025 in the US. The 228i costs $33,025. Pretty big difference. A 228i with Msport and 6MT sure sounds temping at that price, especially once you consider the cost savings of European Delivery on top of that.

The ultra-sporty driving characteristics of the BMW 2 Series Coupe are expressed in the design of the exterior. The 135 kW/184 hp four-cylinder engine in the BMW 220i Coupe is making its debut in a compact BMW model, and the 240 kW/326 hp six-cylinder in-line engine under the bonnet of the BMW M235i Coupe earns it top billing as the most powerful petrol-driven member of the BMW M Performance Automobile line-up.

The specific proportions of the BMW 2 Series Coupe are contained within a body measuring 4,432 millimetres in length. The two-door model is therefore 108 millimetres longer than the BMW 1 Series and 72 millimetres longer than the outgoing BMW 1 Series Coupe. The new compact Coupe is also 26 millimetres wider than its predecessor (at 1,774 millimetres), and has a 30-millimetre longer wheelbase (2,690 millimetres) and wider tracks (front: 1,521 millimetres, +41 millimetres; rear: 1,556 millimetres, +43 millimetres). At the same time the vehicle height has been lowered by 5 millimetres to 1,418 millimetres. The result is an increase in interior space and 20 litres of extra boot capacity (now 390 litres). Added to which, the BMW 2 Series Coupe also boasts more efficient aerodynamics than both the BMW 1 Series and its predecessor, as reflected in a Cd of 0.29 for the BMW 220i Coupe.

High-quality interior with driver-focused cockpit: dual-zone automatic climate control is standard; iDrive operating system is standard in the US, including a 6.5 inch Control Display in exclusive BMW flatscreen design; optional Navigation system includes an 8.8-inch screen and Touch Controller; wide variety of storage compartments, storage areas and cupholders.

Selection of optional driver assistance systems and mobility services from BMW ConnectedDrive unparalleled in the sub-compact segment: High Beam Assistant, Adaptive Headlights, Parking Assistant, rear view camera, Driving Assistant, cruise control system with braking function, extended integration of smartphones and music players, Advanced Real Time Traffic Information (ARTTI) and extended functionality provided by BMW Apps for internet-based services like Facebook and Twitter.

The 228i and M235i will make their world debut at the January 2014 Detroit North American International Auto Show and arrive in US BMW centers in the first quarter of 2014. The 2014 BMW 2 Series Coupe will be offered at a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $33,025 for the 228i and $44,025 for the M235i, including $925 destination and handling in The United States.
