1 Series [Official] BMW 1-series M Coupe

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
Redline is 7000 rpm, wich is a bit akward, since it´s the same as the 135i.

It certainly looks "the business". I have no interest in buying one though as it's going to look very old, very quickly, due to it's links to the original 1 Series hatch six years ago.

Which with the F20 being released next year could be quite soon.

Looks very intimidating, Imagine that pulling behind you on the road!

maybe its just me but it looks a bit aftermarket, probably just the poor quality images.

I thought the very same thing and wondered about this since the 1er was introduced to NA...

The 1er coupe is at a relative half-life to the US public - but to the international audience, the 1er is a selldown model - at the tail-end of its lifespan. Barring minor model-year tweaks - this car has essentially been with us since 2004.

So with all the sturm und drang hanging over the 1er M's long, drawn-out prelaunch campaign I wonder what the plan is for this car's longevity? The next-generation 1er is just around the corner, and it's hard to imagine (though plausible) that BMW would allow the 1er Coupe/Cab languish as 2nd rate antiques for several years.

Much as I'm psyched about this car - For many of us here, this feels more like the 1st gen 1er's swan song.

Wow cool..looks MEAN..i like that..thats how i like my M cars..:)
But i think i remember BMW fans here being so defensive of the M3´s puppy looks..
And now all hailing this beefy 1 series..
Looks like a fat german with sausage in his cheeks..

Well for me (never mind the coat turning BMW fans)..its a hit ..
Now all we need is a good price and super specs.. ( last will be delivered no doubt)
First is still up in the air..

If over 40 K euro = FAILURE

Car and Driver is saying about 43.5K here in the U.S.

The M treatment works wonders for the 1 Coupe's look, which are not good in regular guise IMO.

With 'regular 1 coupe' you must mean the 128i non M pack, because in the U.S that's the only model next to the 135i (M pack standard), which happens to be one of the best creations from BMW......ever.
Without M pack it is OK looking, with it's just spectacular.

LOL, you should go look for a Renault Clio RS or something. A BMW is premium dude. MB and it's fans seem to be forgetting that lately...

Under 40 k Euros for an M1.... LMFAO!!!!!

Sorry guys..i made an error...got lost in Kroners and euros..

Less than half million kroner (50K euro) is a perfect..
Above will start to hurt badly..

My bad..:t-banghea

I'm really not sure how to say this, quite simply there has not been a car from BMW that has moved me the same way as the day I first saw the E30 M3 when it was first released - until know........its only a teaser video, however in its short 60 seconds all I could think was that this car is the spiritual successor, weird and I am not sure how many of you would agree but that my first impression.

I also think BMW took a page out of Audi's book and released this car far too late in the cars lifecycle. This should have been developed and released as the new 1er coupe, and to suprise us all - ahead of the mainstream models.

All 1 coupes period, ugly to me. Except this one.

I see what you're saying, but one of my favorite bmws is the z4 coupe, and that came at the end of that model's years. If the styling is iconic enough it will live on.

The Good:
the M treatment makes this the best ,meanest looking 1 series
preliminary reviews seem to say it drives like an M (LSD)

The Bad:
no DCT option for those who want it
Only 3 colors available

The Ugly:
this is not an unique M engine, based on N54
No CF roof
chassis is 6 years old
this car should have been available at least 1 year ago, now it looks like a "rush job"

Will wait and see on price and the final engine/ car specs most importantly weight, but not getting my hopes to high

Damn I really wanted this to be my next car, but will reserve final judgment when all the details are revealed
