A1/S1 [Official] Audi A1 Facelift

The Audi A1 is a luxury supermini car produced by Audi. Predecessor: Audi 50, Audi A2. Production: 2010-2026.
Whoops! Missed this! Best looking daily premium commuter in the world is getting a refresh! Ja, VAG also gets 2nd spot for best looking non-premium daily commuter the Polo:)

Have I been assimilated? Nah, not a chance! But one has to stay true your to your feelings:D:p

Not sure about in Norway but pricing was announced in Germany for the S1 and it is right on par with a VW GTI...

VW GTI - From 28,675 Euro
Audi S1 - From 29,950 Euro

Seems like a pretty good value to me.

If only it was that cheap I'd buy two. Base price in Norway for a GTi is 460,700 NOK which is approx 55,000 EUR. Now I don't have a problem paying 55,000 EUR for a car, but I do if it's a small car like a Golf or the S1. The A1 Sportback 1.4 TSFi I bought cost 325,000 NOK or 38,900 EUR, the Norwegian govt hates cars so they tax the crap out of them.

And how much was the equivalent Polo? Surely you've just bought the A1 for the badge as they're essentially the same thing?

In the old days an Audi 50 and a VW Polo were the same cars as far as I know. Sorry for a little bit off topic.

Move along.......sort out your differences somewhere else.

The first Gen Polo was originally an Audi 50, Audi dropped it when they moved upmarket.

Saying that I could buy a VW Polo or Skoda Fabia that is equivalent to my Audi A1 is (or was when I bought mine 3 years ago) simply not true. Audi was alone offering the 122 hp 1.4 TFSI-engine with the 7-speed DSG-box that was classified as "environment friendly" allowing me to park downtown 2 hours for free and 0 yearly tax for 5 years. The 185 hp GTI engine is too thirsty to qualify.
In a way this A1 is closing the circle for me, because I admit that in many aspects the Audi A1 is a VW Polo in disguise, but the first car I bought new in the nineteenseventies, a VW Polo 1.3 LS was an Audi 50 in disguise.
In between I never had any car from VAG, but mostly Mercedes.

The facelifted A1/A1 Sportback is registered to debut at the AMI Leipzig in late May.

Mercedes-Benz are launching the C-Klasse T-Modell and BMW the 2er Gran Tourer.

Woohoo I was driving home from work today and passed a car transporter, on the transporter was my new A1, damn it looked good. I'll hopefully get to pick it up Friday or Saturday.

blast and damnation, I went to have a look at it this morning, the car has been ordered with only 4 seats, not 5 seats. Looks like I'm going to have to wait another 10-12 weeks for a new car to be built.

Never realised it could be ordered in different rear seat configurations.

Sorry I haven't got photos, but every so often it's handy having seats for 5, we all fitted in the demo car.

Apparently there are 3 different configs for the rear seat, two seats, two seats with cup holders in the middle, and three seats. The Norwegian online configurator doesn't mention any of them. The demo car and the two other new ones in the showroom all have the three seat rear bench, so I had no idea that this wasn't standard, two seats is standard.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
