M3/M4 [Official] 2021 BMW M3 and M4 [G80 & G82]

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

The chin spoiler and the new grills make the node much more digestible. In spachire black it should look proper. Don't care about the hood graphics. Pity, it is 2 seater. Looking forward to M3 CS.

Its funny how all thought bmw is dead when they introduced the new M3 and M4 but then they nailed the interior nailed the driving dynamics and the looks grew on people, then they made the M5CS which is an amaizing car and now this which i think looks craazy aggresive and the interior is fantastic + the tailights oh mama?.

The difference between the GTS and CSL label explained at 1.50 minutes. By that logic, the GTS label would belong more to this car.?

Coupe Sport 1651kg Lightweight

:)

i like the seats though.
And it is DIN not EU weight. For the EU additional 75 kg, which makes it 1700 kg. Most of the weight reduction comes from the removing the rear seats and the CF front seats and carbon brakes and lighter rims. All these can be DIY on every M4.(provided it is equiped with the CF brakes)

Looks like the most innovative thing about this car are the laser taillights which are super cool. The weakest part on the 4 series for me were the taillights.

The weight if true of 1625kg isn’t too bad only so much they could have done it’s not a bespoke chassis….it’s based on a series production car.

Honestly I was expecting a faster lap time than 7:15 secs. I’m not excited about this car as I thought I would be …will have to see if it will live up to the M3CSL and most recently the M2CS and M5CS. It does have an advantage on being based on the M4 which has received universal praise.

Set a record of 7min.15.677sec,the best figures ever for a series-produced BMW car

Expected a faster time. Did it use Cup 2 R tyres?

Spec are spot on. Standard car is already a track ready weapon. The CSL will be even sharper, direct and engaging on the right road condition.

The weight is 1,625kg "DIN". It's 1,700kg to EU1 standards, which is how BMW (and most other manufacturers) report their numbers. The M4 Competition is 1,700kg to EU1. So the CSL is indeed 100kg lighter than the M4 Competition.

I watched the Shmee video last night, and he explained how the weight was lost. By far the biggest contribution is removing the rear seats. What I would like to see is somebody take a standard M4 Comp, remove the rear seats, put the same tyres on as the CSL, and see how close it could get to the CSL's lap time.

Please don't go in there, he'll give you his resume and a dissertation on weight/power/driving ratio /M3 DTM/ driving pleasure blah blah blah

I don't think you are in any position to "mock" an actual racing driver, and one of the few people on here who can back up their opinions with real world experience.

Don’t you guys think it is bit overdone to bring a 165.000 tracktoy which is not ensured on track. Most of these cars will become garage queens to look at. Which guy buy’s one and do a 7.20 on Nurburgring with it.

let BMW build a 300Hp 1250 Kg car for money you can use on track and take the risks with it.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
