M3/M4 [Official] 2021 BMW M3 and M4 [G80 & G82]

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

Not sure. It's from the article above. Could even be a matter of tyres.
Definitly! The laptime done by Christian Gebhardt with the non xDrive version in the supertest was with MSPC2 semis. Uwe Seners time with the xDrive variant was on non semis/normal UHPs.
If sport auto does a supertest with the M3/M4 Competition xDrive, you will see, that it beats all track times of the non xDrive if compared with same tires.

Yes, the crazy b******s have managed to infect an M3 with the Mumps virus!
Uff. I like Evolve a lot (especially Imran in his yt videos) ... and I give them credits for doing this project/spending a whole lot of effort, to provide a design option for the G8x front end whiners!

But personally I have to confess: this looks like crap! The original/OEM design looks 100 times better and more cohesive! I'm really curious, how many of those kits they are going to sell ...

In the last eddition of Fast Lap Cristian Menzel tested the M4 competition RWD with a moderate tunning from AC Schnitzer. The idea behind this is to check whether the M4 can get close to the 911 GT3 with its easy to be tunned engine (while the GT3 with its naturally aspirated engine is already at the limit).
The M4 is equipped with the optional BMW original carbon ceramic brakes and carbon seats. The tires are a bit wider 285/30/20 cup 2 MO(Mercedes original :)) front and 295/30/20 at the rear. Additional front splitter and flaps (improve 40kg at 200 kmh) and rear spoiler (70 kg at 200 kmh). Wight 1729 kg, 914kg at the front axle and 815 kg at the rear. KW adjustable suspension 30 mm lower at the front and 40 mm at the rear. More agresive camber. Power 590 ps and 750 Nm. Price including the extras from BMW and ACS 145 000 Euro.
Times:
BMW M4 ACS 1.48,47
BMW M4 comp 1.50,93
992 GT3 1.47,16
991.2 GT3 1.48,18
991.1 GT3 1.48,28

Interessting! However, the fast lap is done at airfield Mending I think ... it has a boring layout ... some long straights, some 90 degree corners and no elevation changes. To me that means, it favours the high powered M4 ACS, because the 992GT3 can't really shine with its super exact handling!
Lets assume, the upcoming M4CSL has a power figure north of 550hp (closer to M4 ACS than 992 GT3) and is also 100kg lighter than M4 ACS, then I would expect it to even beat the 992 GT3s time at Mendig! But at other more demanding tracks like Bilster Berg or Nordschleife, I think the CSL will stand no chance against 992GT3.

The M4 was up to 7 kmh faster on the streights but in every single corner the Porsche was faster. Menzel didn't like the steering of the M4-not enough feedback and he doesn't like in general the brake by wire systems, because the driver can not feel the limit transmited through the ABS pulsation on the pedal in the hydraulic system. But he said that the M4ACS still has better feel of the brakes than the standart car due to the wider and sportier tires, which give additional traction and the limit is reached later. The biggest issue is the 300 kg weight difference compared to the 992 GT3.

2022 is going to be a year to remember for wagon enthusiasts thanks to the all-new BMW M3 Touring. For the first time ever, BMW will offer a wagon version of its beloved BMW M3 sports sedan. This exciting wagon will carry over all of the performance of a BMW M3 into a practical Wagon body style giving customers the perfect one-car solution. To get everyone excited for what’s coming in 2022, BMW posted a teaser video of the new BMW M3 Touring in an unlikely location.

The latest G80 BMW M3 has shaken up the world of M3s and challenged tradition like never before. BMW introduced a new controversial departure from its usual styling, added an option for all-wheel drive, and ditched dual-clutch automatic transmissions. These changes were carefully thought out by BMW to improve their BMW M3 offering while also angering many people on the internet.

Thankfully BMW has something that every single person on earth is going to love, a wagon version of the BMW M3. Now you can have the practicality of an SUV with the same driving experience of a BMW M3 which is the ultimate win-win. BMW’s inclusion of all-wheel-drive also means that even in the toughest snowy weather conditions you should easily make it to your favorite ski resort.
To show just how fun and capable the BMW M3 Touring really is, BMW’s Instagram teaser video features a camouflaged M3 wagon tearing up a snowy autocross. With the correct tires and a little driver skill, it's clear the BMW M3 Touring is the practical wagon many auto enthusiasts have been dreaming of for decades. It’s almost good enough to forgive the new polarizing grille design.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
