The Mercedes-Benz CLA is a series of luxury subcompact executive cars manufactured by Mercedes-Benz since 2013. The first generation was a four-door sedan based on the platform of the W176 A-Class and W246 B-Class compact cars, marketed as a four-door coupé. In 2015, Mercedes-Benz expanded the CLA family to include a station wagon configuration which it markets as a Shooting Brake. As the V177 A-Class sedan took its place as the budget-conscious sedan, the second generation got longer and wider than the W205 C-Class.

The CLA 250 e and CLA 250 e SB were caught winter testing. 
Both the four-door and Shooting Brake will get a PHEV powertrain.

2er GC is an abomination. I don’t know what the gang in Munich is smoking but this isn’t funny anymore. That said the interior is not bad, I quite like the funky ambient lighting

Yea, and next gen , Mercedes should be ashamed of this one and so on..
I know how people loved the last gen A class when first came out to compete with A3 etc...
Now people love this one, and so on...There will be a better car always

Doesn't change the facts. A lot of first generation Mercedes models are usually lacking. Just because someone loved the car doesn't mean it was up to Mercedes' usual standards. There are clueless people all over the world that love all type of dullard cars. To a first time Mercedes buyer the previous CLA may be nice to them, but to anyone familiar with the brand it was an embarrassment.

Of course...but i bet next gen will be better in quality in ride quality and so on...
From my point of view...even now is not at standards of mercedes..and is still an embarrassment and so on...for others CLA should have been RWD...for others is still lacking space in the back and etc etc...
For me...Mercedes is still starting with the C class...again, im an E class owner so maybe im subjective ...but for the market buyers (i mean for those who want an cheap entry level mercedes brand) the first CLA/A class was awesome, like this one is for some...i dont think will be a next gen car/device that will be worse than the previous one..this is the way life in tech and research is and should be

Yea...who doesnt want that...but for profit margins we never get from the start what we want
Nowadays we want first an reliable car...if you dont have that..the rest is shadows
I look at some of my partners...and they bought a lot of new mazda 3....and all of them have issues, i mean a lot of issues...and recalls...from mazda...a brand that was up there from reliable stand point some years ago....
I even fear about the quality of the next S class...since the current S class FL, when you open the doors are empty (beside the safety kit and the electronics), the non FL were full inside and you could hear very easy ...now when you hit gently the top/side of the door, it sounds hollow..so again, im afraid of the next S class...
Now the E class FL we have black plastics buttons/touch on steering instead of galvanised/metal feeling, we have cheap feeling signal/gear selector on the new A class/GLE/GLS and so on...

That hollowness was present in pre-facelift models as well. Ours had it. I believe if you optioned up the exclusive interior there was more padding under the leather which reduced that impression.
From a quality and reliability point of view, our pre facelift W222 was alsmost faultless from start to finish.
Marcus is right, the first CLA should have been better from the start and was not worthy of the MB badge. It sold because of design, image and in some cases tech and performance. The new one is a big improvement in almost all respects. A much more mature product.

I bet you will say the same when the 3d generation will arrive..
Again, now that we have the new generation...the old one looks less mature...But when the first gen arrived a lot of people, probably you included, liked it...
And its normal to be an improvement, a big one since is a new completely generation...its not just an facelift...but again (if after 7-8 years we dont get an completly new generation ...this A platform, is the mercedes for the young audience and a money grabber for mercedes...but, if the first CLA was not worthy the badge, then this isnt either...is just a FWD more techy inside...i think an VW jetta/golf 8 still has some details more refined than this A/CLA...and at this price with this badge on it there shouldt be one single object more refined. You like the CLA now because its fresh..and looks good, i like it too..but still...this platform should be named Mini Mercedes
Regarding S class...i was talking about the inside of the doors...that at pre-facelift and older generation, like on the 7 series, when the doors are opened completely you see full of cotton inside, no gaps, nothing..now you have a lot of empty gaps inside the doors. And common on...for 2 bucks at that price, you could let that fabric inside all 4 doors..

I disagree Shellshock. The original MFA CLA had noticeable shortcomings that were uncharacteristic of the brand. These MFA2 vehicles are a bigger jump in quality and execution than what is the norm. You're entitled to your opinion of course but there's a reason many people have been surprised at the effort this time around.

So you disagree with me Serpens when i said that not original MFA CLA and not even now is uncharacteristic of the brand ? Its normal after 8 years to have a bigger jump...this is HOW things works... the others do it also...I mean this new CLA is just up there just from tech side....but if you try it...it will be under an golf 8 for ride quality, some quality interior elements and so on...ITS a freaking FWD platform, and to be mercedes nowadays its ok to pay more just to have sub par quality elements compare with an GOLF? Im sorry but , unlike many, i never payed and will never pay for the badge ONLY..ok, a little, but i expect better in every single thing from mercedes when you decide to compete with Golf/Focus etc since you are clear under 1 series

You should first drive an golf 8 and an a/cla on not so perfect road...and see the difference in sound insolation, ride quality and so on...This is just an worse golf/jetta but better in tech...even the doors close are the same now...the inside B pillars are not hiding the cars paint, just like an golf 5-6-8 etc
From my point of view, since Mercedes is charging a lot more than a golf, and gives you less or on par with golf 8(expect the digital infor and the multibeam lights) its an embarrassing ...but hey, we have different claims

Like an galaxy S20 is better than an galaxy8, like golf 8 is better in quality than golf 6, like an Zegna Couture/Kiton/Cesare Attolini suit is better in fabrics and quality than it was 10 years ago...

Again , in quality/performance etc, something new SHOULD be always better than last generation...Mercedes...is going backwards...i mean my gear leaver, my signal leaver, my doors quality and sound on my 2016 e class, is far better in quality than the new GLE..and in the next E class FL, we get plastic/touch buttons for the wheel than the current metal feeling, and so on...
In terms of quality, 1 series has a proper interior for a premium brand, the CLA not so much
