C-Class (W205) [Official] 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Facelift

The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. The fourth-generation C-Class was available in sedan (W205), station wagon/estate (S205), coupe (C205), cabriolet (A205) and long-wheelbase sedan (V205) body styles.
why can't they just take the spec sheet lol.

Electrification continues: C 200 with EQ Boost

A new generation of four-cylinder petrol engines is being launched in the new C-Class. At the same time these models are equipped with an additional 48 volt onboard network with a belt-driven starter/alternator (EQ Boost). The new petrol model will be launched as the C 200 and C 200 4MATIC with a displacement of 1.5 litres, with a 2.0-litre variant to follow later.

The combination of a 48 volt onboard network and EQ Boost creates the conditions for additional functions that help to reduce fuel consumption even further, while improving agility and comfort characteristics. When accelerating, EQ Boost can assist the 135 kW (184 hp) engine with an additional 10 kW (14 hp), bridging the brief moment until the turbocharger has built up its full charge pressure. This boosting is also used to reach the engine's ideal rpm as quickly as possible during gearshifts. The shift time of the automatic transmission is shortened as a result. During deceleration, the starter/alternator recuperates kinetic energy and charges the battery. The water pump is electrically driven and actuated by a characteristic map. This optimally adapts the cooling output to the current need.

Glorious. Mild hybrids will make excellent diesel replacement.

Would you know how much torque the electric model produce?

The facelift to my eyes is a real success. The car looks very good and a bit sharper now that was so much needed. The facelifted model is the best C to date except the gorgeous 190E. The interior of the current C was already the best in this class and even better than the new E class interior IMO.

Here are performance figures and details for the C200 and C220d with new engines from AMS.

The four-cylinder engines will be converted to the two new engine families OM 654 and M 264. The diesel engines of the OM 654 series replace the previously used 2.1-liter units of the OM 651 series. First of all, the facelift will bring the C 220d onto the market.

The two-liter turbo diesel is known from the E-Class, also makes in the C-Class 194 hp and delivers 400 Newton meters in the 9G Tronic. The sedan consumed by the standard 4.4 liters / 100 km, the T-model 4.7 liters. This corresponds to 117 and 123 grams of CO2 / km, respectively. In 6.9 (T-model: 7.0) seconds, the new C 220d accelerates from zero to 100 km / h and runs 240 (T-model: 233) km / h fast.

50 km electric range
For the first time Mercedes combines a diesel with plug-in hybrid technology. The OM 654 is supported by an electric motor with 90 kW of electrical power and 440 Nm of torque. The lithium-ion battery with 13.5 kWh capacity is said to last for 50 kilometers of electric driving and can be charged with 7.2 kW.

A C 200d with 150 hp and a C 180d with around 130 hp may be considered safe. C-Class customers will still have to do without a six-cylinder diesel.

Gasoline with 48 volt hybrid
The four-cylinder gasoline engine M 264 initially comes with 1.5 liters displacement and electric assistance in the C 200 and C 200 4Matic. The gasoline engine makes 184 hp, it is always combined with the nine-speed automatic 9G-Tronic. The electric motor supports up to 10 kW during acceleration and recuperates at 12 kW. Consumption is between 6.0 liters (C 200 sedan) and 6.7 liters (C 200 4Matic T model). The CO2 emissions are Mercedes at 136 to 153 g / km. The C 200 sedan accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 7.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 239 km / h. Variants with two liters displacement will follow.

There is one issue I have with the layout of all these new graphics, MB kept moving the gear indicator around with different display style, makes finding it at a quick glance more difficult.

What is very strange I noticed when comparing the new C200 to the Pre facelift model with the older 2.0 ltr engine, is that it is slower in acceleration.

0-100 km/h - New C200 -7.7sec; Old C200 -7.2sec
0-100 km/h - New C200 4matic - 8.1sec; Old C200 4matic - 7.4sec
Top speed - New C200 -239km/h; Old C200 -237km/h
Top speed - New C200 4matic - 234km/h; Old C200 4matic -234km/h

New C220d is faster

0-100 km/h - New C220d -6.9sec; Old C220d -7.5sec
Top speed - New C220d -240km/h; Old C220d -235km/h

This power and torque comes in much later in the new c200. That explains the slower performance.

I see this new c200 as the replacement for the old c180 and I forsee mercedes launching a c220 or c250 with the real 2litre engine.
