Surely the Golf is Germanic and uber-comfortable aslo spaciouss - nothing wrong at all.
Just the Auris focuses on the driver and feels so correct behind the wheel so perfect, the front seats feels like Recaro's etc. If this is how the Auris feels, the new IS may just spell trouble for my o'l best friend and icon, the F30
Both Toyota & Lexus certainly has a problem with front-end design. But just look at the new IS cabin, dash and driving/seating position (the orientation) is all focused for the purpose of driving pleasure. And it just does not seem fair to judge a book by it's cover just becuase I am and always will be a BMW guy and a German Car enthusiast at heart and in general. I for one HATE korean copy + paste styling and some Japanese brands do the same, yet....Rather then not "spite" yourself and stay away from the Lexus/Toyota test drive centers.![]()
Seriously guys the best thing about Toyota & Lexus are their engines..
Even Camry's from the 90's are fast, smooth and efficient.
The power delivery from these engines is so smooth that its spooky, and they're so velvety smooth and unruffled.
Witness, and this is only the Camry V6 with 200kW or 268HP
See how smooth and unruffled the car pulls?
Stressing that this was a brief and informal, track-only comparison—a proper comparo is forthcoming—the BMW was our favorite, with the IS350 F Sport a close second. There’s a purity to the BMW’s dynamics, with fluid, accurate steering and an inherent balance that’s easily controlled with the throttle
'Cause no one does as uglyAt least they are not trying to copy anyone
WOW, beautiful Lexus. Interior is best in class. Can't wait for RC-F! The new IS stands out among its rivals like a winner.![]()
WTF are you talking about![]()
I'm talking about beautiful cars like the new IS or the new 4 Series.
Yep, leaving the engines unchanged wasn't really a good idea as they date back a decade (in terms of development) and may quickly become uncompetitive. Then again BMW still has the same engines for the 335i, but of course has better numbers than the IS350.I think the reason why is because the body is the same, except the front and rear clips. The interior is all new and the wheelbase has been stretched, but the greenhouse and everything the same. Looks like a facelift, but I see what you're saying also. Either way the car is not gonna worry anyone in this segment. What they should have done is updated the engines.
