You seem to be talking about the materials used as a determining factor as to whether the interior feels cheap. I'm not. I think the layout and design of the dashboard has too much "black stuff" on show and it just seems a very sparse cockpit due to the design. But all this is irrelevant. You have your views. I have mine. Why argue over it?

OK. I can see why you would have interpreted it that way. When I said "why argue?", I didn't mean "why are YOU arguing with me?" I meant "this is a pointless debate really because we both have our opinions and nobody can be wrong, as it's an opinion". In other words, to go on endlessly saying "I think it's premium", and me saying "I don't think it's premium", is utterly futile.

I like the Black Sapphire Metallic with the Leather Nevada Chestnut interior. Added the Tech and premium package and ended up with $49,125. Not bad and it looks great.

I think this new incarnation of the X3 is truly a major improvement from the last one and a good competitor to the Audi Q5.

Personally, I really like the update.

2nd pic (from rear), compared to my black X1 the family resemblence is clear as daylight.

My local dealer will have their first new X3 on the floor Wednesday 24/11.
Then I will be in a "position to comment"

I ve tested it yesterday (35i). I understand now your point of view regarding the plastic. Compared to my E91 335i Mpack, plastic is more present in the x3 that is right. But when you seat on the driver seat and you drive it, you forgett all about the plastic stuff and the car is just a fun toy, like every bmw. The gearbox is a dream, the suspension very good, and for the engine it's a great engine for all day use.

As for the quality of the material....a base X3 with cheapest engine (2.0d) is MORE expensive than a base F10 520d in my country. So if quality of the materials is below F10 (which I know it will be, even though I have never seen X3 yet), it's imo a slight disappointment.
