The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3.

It's looking better and better.

That specific wood trim they are using looks terribly cheap.

What I think is bothering me about the front is the small little opening/grill under the kidney grills...

This car needs LED blinkers in the front FAST. For the rest, lookin' good!

Overall I think I don´t like the X3 interior, it´s not that I dislike it, it just doesn´t do anything for me, it´s plain boring. Since the F01 7er, BMW has surprised us with nice interior designs, but this is the ugliest one (again, without being ugly). I even prefer the X1 layout design than this, which too un-BMW to my eyes.

Hmm, I am really warming up to the interior. IMO it looks gorgeous

^^ I agree it looks to have a nice quallity, but c´mon, it´s a copy of the A4 layout.

^^^^
And I second that! WOW 100% premium and nice hi-res photo's to prove that:t-cheers:

Sorry Betty you were wrong, the new X3 has interior of prefect premium quality in every respect, the materials covering the dash and even hidden parts either sides of the front seats below the gear lever / i-drive trim is soft touch premium quality. The rest is easily visible;)

So you've sat in a real life X3 now?

I said the X3 I experienced in Paris was very cheap feeling, and I still stand by those comments. It didn't have all the expensive options. The pictures above are clearly not from an entry level X3. ;)

Not yet my friend.

Fact is that the materials I have mentioned stays the same irrespective of the options you choose or what model you buy;)
These mentioned are not hard/nasty plastics or painted plastics i.e. BMW X1 or old X3:)

EDIT: See my "Why not?" post and pics on page 15 (prev. page) on this thread.

Well Betty is used to high end cars like the M3, so his comments are different from eg young starters who are buying their first premium car...

Maybe Betty can better comment on the new X3 vs the old X3. It's relevant because the new 1er will get the same treatment...

Then you're not in a position to comment.

I have an X6 and X1, comparing materials from these two with ANY E90 model variant and to the new X3 (dashboard, door etc. materials) that stays the same irrespective of the model or spec. is easy;)
I can see that soft touch + mat materials are used and not shiny hard flimsy plastic as in the X1. I can see elements and materials used in the new X3 from the F10 5er. And frankly the E90 series cars including the M3 is no RR Phantom when it comes to materials used. Given the X3's switchgear e.g. climate control is old but has nothing to do with the STANDARD cladding used as explained a number of times. Thus no leather trim, color or spec change are going to change the cladding. In the X6 for example the standard cladding of the dashboard can be changed/specified as an option to stitched Nappa leather...hope I get the message through?

You seem to be talking about the materials used as a determining factor as to whether the interior feels cheap. I'm not. I think the layout and design of the dashboard has too much "black stuff" on show and it just seems a very sparse cockpit due to the design. But all this is irrelevant. You have your views. I have mine. Why argue over it? :t-hands:
