CLS [Official] 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.
Wow....ordinary and plain.....Those souped up CGI press pics with special lighting are not at all visible anymore in normal light on a parking lot.

And, it looks like those fancy LED lights are a must. Too bad 90% won't order them. Should be standard.

Also, those pics appear to be taken around 10 km from where I live. It's in Scheveningen, The Hague. Right next to the beach. Funny stuff, I could have seen it driving around. (I did see the CLS a couple of time last week on the Nurburgring, but with much more camo still....)
At least MB seems to have xenons as standard for the CLS, I think

The new CLS is FLOORING ME! I am giddy about the new CLS AMG. Will they even need to do a more aggressive fender package like they did with the E (Front)? (I certainly hope so ;))

Yep Xenons standard, LED extra.. and no klier 90% wont save the extra penny and drive around with xenon´s..what do you base these funny comments on??..haha:D

Without the AMG pack and the front LEDs, the front of the car looks 90% CL:

Woah What A Car this is epic.its mindblowing look at the red rear with that beige and black interior.I will do anything to have this sexy yet elegant monster.

KA...I'm with you on the chrome strip. Why they didn't bend it slightly and meet at the corner of the panel doesn't make sense to me. It looks slightly odd the way it is now.

Those superimposed alien women are ridiculous. MB would never have had them in the past.

All said and done, the car looks absolutely stunning overall. I think I may actually prefer the non AMG kit car. It looks sporty enough. The AMG kit one is a beast though. Imagine what the fully fledged AMG model will look like. SINISTER.

You got to be a cheap ass not to order the LED's. The impact they have on the front will be worth every single penny!!! :D

The rims ruin it for me on the AMG sport package. I think they have to be one of the worst designed rims AMG has done in a while, so no compliments from me seeing them on the CLS.

Anything else would be ridiculous for such a car.... But the LED make the whole front look much more high tech and modern..

Edit;

I still think the car is gorgeous, and I realise that the parking lot shots aren't exactly quality shots, and that the car is dirty after having driven from Germany to the Dutch coast. From Stuttgard to the beach of The Hague is 500 km plus.

Anyone know if the LED heads will be standard in the U.S (I'm also assuming they're only gonna supply the CLS550/CLS63 here as well?).

I'm SURE there will be different style rims to choose from as with every other model.;)

Well when the new TT V6s arrive,i'm sure they'll offer a V6 powered CLS and even S-Class.

PS,the car needs visible exhausts on ALL models not just petrol ones.

They should be standard but let's not disregard the small percentage of individuals who badly want to get behind the wheel of a premium Benz at the lowest possible cost and don't care for metallic paint or any extras. MB are catering to them with small engines and head light units sans LED extravaganza.

This is 99.9% of U.S M-B buyers. Give them a kia with a Benz badge, they'll spend for it, and still skrimp out on all the options.

They better be! Considering they'll probably offer only V8's here. I'm still upset that MB hasn't even made Keyless Go standard yet, ten years after they invented it.

That's what I thought first, until I saw the back. Definitely needs the LEDs.

I wish MBUSA would bring the CLS350's over. But they wanna charge a premium for the CLS, and they can't do that with a V6.

I'm with you on the exhausts. They should have them exposed on all models. It just looks to plain without them, or the LED's.

This article reveals that the CLS with have the ambit lighting options like the S class. As any photographer, cameraman or interior designer will
tell you, light is the key element in setting a scene. The
interior designers of the CLS seem to have done their
homework here, because they have come up with a very
pleasant underlying mood, generated by hidden LEDs and
fi ber optics. Drivers can choose between three settings,
ranging from warm to cool — from “Solar” (amber) to “Polar”
(ice-blue), with “Neutral” (white) in between. This
optional mood lighting experience is controlled from the
instrument cluster.

Cant wait to see what new technology will be released!

I'm not counting much on new tech Blamex, it is essentially a rebodied E-class. That said MB have gotten into the habbit of releasing technology gradually so there may be something novel on the CLS.

@blamex: you can see that in the new S-Class Facelift

Thanks. This will just add to an amazing car! I have an E350 CDI and today I placed a deposit for the new CLS. It will not be in AUS until around JUN 2011. But at least I will be one of the first.
