Gunther Werks ushes the performance envelope with exclusive QWX specialty vehicle commission
The highly specialized and invite-only GWX bristles with technological innovations and sets a new standard of performance as Gunther Werks’ most exclusive offering
Monterey, Calif. (Aug. 13, 2025) – Gunther Werks, a leader in precision-engineered, high-performance automotive design, recently unveiled the newest addition to its exclusive lineup of bespoke vehicle programs. “GWX” is the latest evolution of the performance specialists’ remastering of the Porsche 911 platform, positioning itself at the absolute apex of Gunther Werks’ offerings.
With an extremely limited production run of only three planned builds, the new GWX is a truly exclusive offering from Gunther Werks. Compounding that exclusivity even further is that it is an invite only program.
The GWX builds upon Gunther Werks’ current platforms, but separates itself with new performance levels and technological advancements. At the heart of the GWX is an evolution of the proven Coupe motor but with some of the latest Gunther Werks technology that was introduced for GWR motor. The second generation GWX 4.0 liter flat-six and produces 440 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, but unlike previous builds, utilizes advanced sliding throttle body plates. The result is a razor-sharp throttle response at all inputs and vastly improved airflow at wide-open throttle, as there is no longer any part of the throttle plate blocking airflow. A new drive by wire throttle system was custom developed to support this slide valve technology.
Further separation from previous offerings includes completely bespoke carbon-fiber body panels exclusive to the GWX. Optimized to enhance aerodynamics and improve downforce, the specialized body parts include:
Adding to the rarity and visual appeal of the Gunther Werks GWX is a special paint that covers its unique body. Developed in-house by Gunther Werks, the specialized Candy Purple hue is exclusive to the GWX and unavailable on other offerings. Silver pinstriping and an exposed herringbone carbon-fiber weave down the center of the hood, roof and tail of the GWX provide further singularity. In an effort to further improve chassis rigidity, the rear chassis bracing technology that was developed for the Turbo was added to the GWX platform.
“Our new GWX takes all we have learned with remastering the Porsche 911 platform and pushes it even further,” said Peter Nam, CEO and founder of Gunther Werks. “We are extremely excited to offer this pinnacle of performance to our most loyal customers and continue to showcase our technical prowess with our newest offerings.”
