autobild is quite contradicting, showing new a8 in two different looks, i guess the next audi you get to choose which design you want your a8 in as an option.

I dont think does pictures are real. Because the new a8 will also be build on the new mlp platform. and the mlp platform places the front axle further. But i cant see that on the pictures.

You can clearly see from those pics that the new A8 has less front overhang compared to the old one.

Reading today the article of worldcarfans about the Audi sketches, I read the information below the new A8, and the post of EnI talking about an agressive front, even in a S8 way, and top quality interior...

And then you see the Autobild pics of the car, showing an ugly with nothing near to the sportiness EnI talks about...

I doubt about how the final car will be.

Audi really goofed up the next A8.. One of the main problems with the design is the coupe-like roofline. It makes the design so boring and washed out. Thay should have made the roof more square (like the A4)

That would have given this design more power. I really expected way more from Audi.. this is terrible in many ways to say the least..

The problem in my opinion is not that. When you see the current A8, yhought is is a bit outdated nowadays, is still has the pretty side profile, with big handles a very competent design, also the front looks elegant and sporty at the same time.

This this, has incorporate the actual desing of the rest of the Audi line up to this bigger A8, with a poor result. That type of rear lights fits well the A5, but not an A8, the front is too huge, donñt know what were they thinking. And there are more ugly etails, like that boot with Bangle but, the side progile, that seems to be a cut all over it, and the interior design wich, even when they quallity will probablt be excellent like on the current car, the design is completly off.

I agree. though a little extreme and funny I think klier put it best with this post..

I don't like the new A8 much....just as I thought, the old A8 was the pinnacle of Audi design and they haven't been able to hold on to that. I like the 7er MUCH more, inside out

1. The back looks like the A5
2. the LCD screen is just terrible sticking out like this
3. interior as a whole is a mess. Way too many buttons and weird lines... and that silly analog clock....yuckkkk ! Eni, I really don't understand what you see it it, but I assume you are just being nice...
4. It looks sort of chubby. 7er proportions are much better with the greenhouse so much to the back and long hood.
5. side profile looks a bit dull and A6ish
6. headlights are again the same as every other Audi
7. BANGLE BUTT..OMG...lmao...can you believe it......hahahahaha

So my conclusion is that the old A8 was much better for it's time and that I love these early scoops. The whole new A8 completely reveiled.....must be extremely painful for Audi. This is a huge scoop....

No way the black PS is going to be the real deal. it's so wrong, including the interior.
That said, the quality of Audi's latest designs is clearly down. Bar the superb A5, all the newest cars are blah (A4, Q5...). Still, it would surprise me to see such a splendid car as the A8 becoming such an ill-shaped mess.

Same here, I agree with you. The latest spy pics does pretty much confirm what we saw a while ago is pretty much close to the real deal.
