X5 New X5 E70 spy pictures (and videos) - part 3

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

Totally wrong, BMWFREAK! :eusa_naug

Is it so difficult to see that this is the first electric shaver ever to be built into a car? Comes in handy for those businessmen who are practically living in their car.

Part 1:
two buttons, one for water, one for shaving gel (for those X5-drivers with a sensitive skin)

Part 2:
shaving gel applicator/wireless shaver
(configuration via I-Drive > Entertainment > Personal hygiene)

And EniLab, where can I collect my prize? :D ;)

LOL:D

Ahhh Zorro I think you are absolutely right. Excuse me for having attempted to decipher the mere panasonic electric shaver. Sorry.

I think it is panasonic right?

I remember seeing a clip with an X5 parking itself. Does it have something to do with that?
That was a 5er, and the technology is not ready yet. And if it is, oh man, there's going to be the longest text on the Idrive (what do you call those again, lawyer screens?) you have to agree before you start the car.

Yes. it was X5. Sysiem not ready yet. Although Lexus is offering something similar.

About the gearbox: one of you got it right, but not you El Zorro. :D

Damn :D , but whatever it is, SMG or ZSG, it will guarantee razor-sharp gear changes ;) . Tell us EniLab!

SMG is far too jerky and uncomfortable for a luxury SAV, IMO it works on an 'M' model though, so do not flame me!! So that narrows it down to either a new automatic box, or ZSG. Now ZSG is a sporty solution, so would probably have steering wheel mounted paddles, which I can't see on this picture, so my guess is just a new auto' box. I would love to be wrong though!

@ BMWFREAK: EDC is electrnic damper control, basically it actively softens and hardens the dampers based on the car's yaw, pitch, speed and roll etc.

So it can't be SMG either... because there's no paddle shift. I'm pretty sure that's an automatic, but that sure is funky looking.

Thank you sif for telling me that. Now that you mention it, I could've put that together in my head and figured it out. Funny how when someone tells you an answer you seriously can't believe you didn't know it.

I was waiting for this pic to appear here. :D

It's a PS. PSed spy pic.

But in general it shows real E70 quite well. Only: creases missing in the headlight glass, a "flamed" crease instead of side protection bar, air intake nets should be silver-ish.

Btw, HERE is a nice spy video by edmunds

Love how the wheels don't seem to be moving in that video (00:50). Sounds awesome too.

E70 X5 in PR is coming in early August - just after London Auto Show (expect some leaking pics perhaps in the end of July). London Auto Show higlights are reserved for some other BMW premiere - M6 cabrio.

E93 Cabrio PR coming in late August, also the 2007 improvements / updates for E90/E91: e.g. 328i/335i/325d/335d/etc.

New MINI - coming in mid August, Rolls-Royce Corniche mid September.

Photo shooting for RR Convert has taken place in Southern France, UAE, and RSA.

I'll be back soon. Greetings from vacations. :eusa_danc
