1 Series [Official] New BMW 1-series Sportstourer (F20)

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
I still think it´s a big fail from BMW. The original 1er surprised me much more when released, and still has a nicer front end and rear end too. The interior looks fine, but it´s true the central console look a bit un-BMW. Which is terrible since it´s the same console we will fin on the new F30 3er.

Anyway guys, BMW better design crap on the lower end models, and please us with marvels like the M5.

Totally agree... the E87 was much more pleasant. This thing just simply looks weird full stop.
And yes, totally agree about the interior, it's not bad, but I would struggle to realise it is a BMW if i dont' look at the buttons and the dash, (and the BMW badge on the steering wheel). Honestly i think the interior looks a bit Jap... like u get sth similar on a Mazda 3.. I'm hopeful that the F30 won't get something too similar to this, given that the E90 shared more similarity with the E60...i hope that won't change.

I think it's fact that the E87 had a better exterior, and also a much better interior.

:t-cheers:

+ The next 1er Coupe/Cabrio will hopefully be of better design - but that maybe wishful thinking... (IMO the current 1er Coupe + 1M is nothing less than perfect looking)

Yet I find the interior/dash of the F20 familiar BMW in layout and nicely tilted towards the driver, the new HVAC and Radio/CD unit very upscale and premium looking. The middle console has a nice twist reminding a bit of the new 6er and the steering wheel design is premium and blends in with the newer and bigger BMW's. The materials, especially the top part of the dash looks to be the same thick + soft touch material as used the new X3.

My only problem with the F20 dash is the same problem I have with the new X3's dash and that is that the Trim i.e. optional wood, Brushed Aluminium etc. does not run a straight line and inline with the main air vents as is the case with BMW cars i.e. F01/02; F10; X1+X6+X5;F87 etc.

Last photo #5 is the dash of the new X3 - first of the new generation Beemers that has this design problem. Only to be continued by the new F20.

Arrrff... That Golf looks totally uninspiring. And the A3 won´t be nothing spicy for sure, as with every Audi. I hope MB offers a nice A-Class 3 door, cause I wouldn´t have any car this segment if they not.

Wth? Are those official pictures of the next Golf? Far worse than the current one. I'd take the BMW. Right now the only car that I'd choose over the 1er is probably the next A-class.

(After having seen the spy pics of the next Gen. Golf on www.autobild.de)Which one would you choose? The next Generation VW Golf or the new BMW 1 series?

I will stay with the F20 BMW. Honestly IMO cover the badges and grills of both cars and both cars can be mistaken to be from the same manufacturer :D

In other words I'd say Oh-shit:eusa_doh:

Well there a whole lot of problems solved if you take an M pack on the new 1er. With M pack, I can safely say it looks quite good.

The sad thing is, though, not many people will opt for the M pack, so 90% of the 1er models here in the street will have an ugly front...and there will be a lot of them.....so that means a lot of ugly Bimmers...

I think the M pack does nothing to accentuate what's right and detract from what's wrong with the F20.

Pricing released in DK ranging from 116i 50K Euro to 120d 64K Euro.

Same here. 118i with 170hp cost about the same as 120i with 170 hp did, at least the base price. Wonder if M-package cost the same as last....
