1 Series [Official] New BMW 1-series Sportstourer (F20)

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
I don't think this is it. I remember seeing the brief asking for competentence but more excitement to make it stand out more in the segment. This is too familiar to the F20 and in some way bland.

It goes to show that ideas initially shelved can be utilised in some form or another later on.

This is from around the mid 00s. But you can see evidence do design apparent today and shown within recent concepts.

I would buy that car right know. I looks 10 times better than the poor F20.

It will still be FWD. And its going to have the split driver/passenger display. Given how connectivity is huge and an essential area in the compact segment.

The new 1er will offer cutting edge technology handed down from the all-new 5er and 7er.

If we take the Active Tourer as reference. It could evolve into something like this?

2-3 week ago Autobild showed us an other render of the next 1-series and this week this one above.
But for me the best would be a 2 Active Tourer based 1-series like the render of Scott. This one hit my palate.

If this article means the LCI and not the all new Generation then sorry. I didn't read the article, but only saw the cover.

The important thing is the 1er will become competitive especially in its interior packaging , styling will of course be evolutionary but with the new modern technical design language. It will also justify its premium status with many features and technology carried down from the upper segment BMW models. It will be lighter and use some CFRP in sections of the car that are found to be significantly heavier in today's cars.

BMW 1-Series DTM Sport Edition
Company celebrates Marco Wittmann's DTM championship win
Following a report from last week, BMW has unveiled the 1-Series DTM Sport Edition.

Similar in its idea to the BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition, the model is designed to celebrate Marco Wittmann's DTM championship win. The new version will replace the usual M Sport package that will be no longer available from November 2014. Regardless of the engine, customers who already ordered the 1-Series with the M Sport package will benefit from a price cut of up to 2,900 EUR (3,700 USD).

The package consists of a new set of 18-inch Star-spoke style 386 M allow wheels, xenon headlights and high-gloss black interior trim. Other details from the kit are virtually identical to the usual M Sport package.

^ there's already a special edition 'DTM' M4, they are milking this full force ;)

It's to sell more cars before the presentation of the facelift model ;)

Hopefully that facelift adds the much more attractive 2 series front.

My local BMW dealer have recently converted a 1 Series to 2 series front, I saw it in their showroom a few weeks back.
