Lol...Your opinion vs. 100 plus years of Mercedes-Benz's experience?
Although you might not like their design direction, it doesn't mean "they" don't know what they are doing.
Only thing you should question is why they ever brought the R-class to the market.
The R Class is a car with a good idea in mind, but it came in the wrong era, it came to early. Now with an established Mercedes B Class, BMW 5 GT, coming BMW 3GT, BMW FAST, Audi A2 and Audi A4 Superavant, the R Class could do well: RWD or AWD, plenty of space but not a SUV, luxurious interior, it would be my choice as a family car, over SUV, sedan, touring and the hybrid 5 GT.
