Re: SPY PHOTOS: Mercedes CLS Facelift

if you look closely on that picture..or PS..whatever it is..
the bodyline runs through all the way to the bottom of the light..
thats new i guess..

That line is in the current version, not new.

Re: SPY PHOTOS: Mercedes CLS Facelift

ohh my bad then..i thought it was new..lol silly me..:D

Re: SPY PHOTOS: Mercedes CLS Facelift

The mirrors are from the facelifted E-Class. The facelifted SL, SLK, and probably the facelifted ML/R/GL. The new E, GLK, and CLK will get the ones from the new C.

I'm actually a little disappointed with this facelift. New headlights and taillights would have been a good start. A slightly re-designed trunk lid and hood would have been nice too.

The mirrors aren't from the facelifted E class, they are unique to the CLS. Neither the SLK, and the ML R GL will not get these mirrors because they are too small for those trucks.

A redesign of the trunklid and hood would be way too expensive, and I think we will see revised head and tail lights.

It does look like the mirrors from the E. That makes no sense. the CLS shares its current mirrors with the S, and they are by far the smoothest and most attractive of what Mercedes offers. Why change something that is right. Fix the from airdamn, and make the rear exhaust more integrated into the bumper.

Thanks Phybenz, I think the new grille is starting to grow on me. I'm interested to see what the new tail lights/bumber/exhaust tips will finally look like.

I used to be absolutely in love with the CLS, but that faded a long time ago.

The SL again my favorite.

But, I think the front bumper on non-sport AMG package CLS makes it look so hideous! Ugh, I can't stand that normal front bumper..it needs to be revised ASAP.

But the CLS looks beautiful in AMG trim!!!

Re: SPY PHOTOS: Mercedes CLS Facelift

The CLS looks good with or without the facelift. But other then the grill, I see no major difference. Still prefer this over the future competitors.

Uhm....whaa? What car(s) are you thinking of?
The Audi A7 is the only thing I can think of, and it kind of strange to prefer this CLS over a new car we don't even know what it is going to look like...

Or, you are referring to the Panamera, Concept CS and Rapide....but if that's what you do, you quite wrong. The CLS is to these cars what the C-class is to the S-class: two leagues lower

Well we all have a pretty good idea of what the Porsche and Aston Martin would look like. I do not like porsche cars, except for the SUV and limited edition GT. The Aston Martin is ok, but I would simply prefer the two door version.

Now the BMW CS, I do not like the front of the vehicle at all. Plus I doubt that BMW will totally change that design.

Now, as far as the two leagues lower....I doubt that. Long and more expensive yes. Now the Aston Martin might be a league above it.

No matter what league their in I am entitled to my opinion. Now if you think I'm wrong then feel free to protest it, but that doesn't change my mind in the least bit.

Well unless Benz makes a Big mistake with the next generation CLS.....

Here a pic from JESMB, I think it is the real grille of the FL model.
It will be quite easy to upgrade a CLS to a FL model :D, even if the bumpers will be different the new grille will be the highlight of the FL, so...

Looks good, give it more sharpness. The bumper is the new one, isn't it? It looks more is incurved in its lower part, the foglights look a bit different too. But it could also be the angle of the pic...

If so, I like it. So this and the SL are ready to go then I think.

I've spoken to a uk dealer who claims to have the definitive list of modifications for the UK facelift. It comprises:
New grille (2 bars)
New wheels (details tbc)
New Rear bumper/lights
New exhaust tips
New exterior colours (tbc)
New instrument cluster
New interior trim
New hard drive sat nav (telematics)
This is to be confirmed but on the basis I have a new model ordered (subject to the facelift), I believe what I'm told.
Regards,

Yes, those changes seems pretty logical.
The new Comand will be fitted on the FL SL too, the Comand III of the C-Class with hard-drive. So surely with the Comand Controller!

i do not foresee Command III in any FL
but has anybody noticed the design studies behind the red CLS?

The non-AMG package CLS grills are too up right and pointy. I hate it.

I can't wait to see the face-life CLS63, I hope they make the front bumper more aggressive like the CL63.

(Shaking head).

Need to see this up close, because I like this car the way it is now.
