Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Thats because we've spent decades helping china build manufacturing, logistics and supply chain expertise across every single industry.

Just need to do what they did with Tesla, and demand that if they want to sell their EVs to us, they need to use local parts suppliers exclusively. That way we get their expertise in-house.
Chinese cars are popular because they don't charge 1000 euros for a 2 cent motor in the seat. Incredible greed is the main reason, in my opinion.

The stance looks closer to a GLC coupe... why? Is this a necessary compromise to the EV powertrain? I thought they were sticking to a single design across the entire C Class line... Instead, they are briding the gap between the current ICE class and the infamous EQ disasters.

These are very surprising new pics of a partially undisguised C-class EQ. The body of the car from front to rear has some nice and interesting surface sculpturing and changes at the rear which seems to have curved hips running into the taillights. The D-pillar seems quite narrow, which is good as it doesnt make the rear end look so heavy as it did on the covered mules. The jury is still out about the rear taillights and boot design as well as the front headlights and grill. I hope it matches well at the front with the GLC style grill. It was predicted that the C-class EQ would have the interior of the GLC EQ and it looks like it will be true, which is a good thing as it looks far more upmarket than the CLA.

The C-Class EV looks quite different than the previous EQ design direction IMO.
The hoodline, greenhouse and boot are more upright with less front overhang. There might even be a slightly protruding 1990s style bumper on the front end. It has the proportions of a traditional gas-powered car compared to the EQE. The rear area, at least from the photos looks like it could get a bump on interior volume compared to the EQE. The door cutaway and glass area appear larger. With the notchback design, it should have been a liftback.

Yeah I agree.
Not seeing the "it looks like the EQE" line. Looks completely different.
The shape of the greenhouse oddly, feels more like the current LWB E class, but less square in the C pillar.

The interior will be shared with the GLC EV, which is great. Sure, the large screen is there, but that nice wood trim at the bottom gives it a sense of warmth and adds to the analogue type luxury. This is another element totally missing in the EQ lineup. I get the feeling this is going to be another hit for Mercedes when the tests come in.

I don’t doubt it will be a great EV, but I gotta see how that grille matches up with this body. I can’t wait to see the AMG versions of this and the GLC with the new EV motors/tech.

I am interested to know what grill they put on for the AMG models for both GLC and C EQs. I am hoping it will be a different interpretation of the classic grill and not the usual Panamericana grill. The GLC and C 63 EQ models with 952PS and probably 1400nm of torque are going to be ballistic missiles and probably close to the acceleration of a SF90. Crazy stuff for a compact saloon and SUV.

Going back to the interior of both GLC and C EQ models, I would bet that most people will probably order the hyperscreen as the superscreen would give the interior some hints of the CLA.

I can’t see that much power in these models. 600-700hp would be enough imo. 952hp would be bat shit crazy lol.

Seems like this is how it’s gonna roll out:
CLA-AMG EQ: 544 ps
GLA-AMG EQ: 544 ps
C-AMG EQ: 952 ps
GLC-AMG EQ: 952 ps
AMG GT 4-Door Coupe EQ: 1360 ps
AMG GT SUV EQ: 1360 ps
AMG GT SUV Coupe EQ: 1360 ps

Nothing against powerful engines, but I view this development of ever more EV with an enormous amount of horsepower with some criticism. I’m not particularly eager to meet all those people who used to have let's say 200-250 horsepower tops under the hood and are now driving a BEV, out on the road.
