So this topic has been spun off. It's not the place for blatant stereotypes, especially if they're not based on personal experience...

That said, India is an interesting place. The Delhi Metro area is bigger than Poland, Mumbai Metro is bigger than the Netherlands, and multiple smaller cities are bigger than other European nations - population wise.

Given that the British Partition of India (which is insane to me as a British person finding out about this massive event from Ms. Marvel....(yep.. true story, no shit, no satire, no irony, I'm 47 and this MCU teen drama is where I first heard this was a thing) occurred within current life spans, it's a bit mental to me to think of India as failed state, rather than anything other than a developing nation crippled by colonial nations.

For me personally it’s one of the most exciting countries.

It’s interesting that people in India still love Diesel powered cars, I guess because the Diesel engine played a big role to build the country.

The British initially didn't want to partition India, they wanted a strong nation as a strategic partner in the region, the All-India Muslim League had other plans, led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, they had grown increasingly powerful and adamant about forming a separate Muslim homeland. Faced with this demand and the Indian National Congress's refusal of federal solution, by 1946 the British saw partition as a "quick and simple solution"....the rest is history.
