Thats because we've spent decades helping china build manufacturing, logistics and supply chain expertise across every single industry.

Just need to do what they did with Tesla, and demand that if they want to sell their EVs to us, they need to use local parts suppliers exclusively. That way we get their expertise in-house.
Chinese cars are popular because they don't charge 1000 euros for a 2 cent motor in the seat. Incredible greed is the main reason, in my opinion.

The stance looks closer to a GLC coupe... why? Is this a necessary compromise to the EV powertrain? I thought they were sticking to a single design across the entire C Class line... Instead, they are briding the gap between the current ICE class and the infamous EQ disasters.

These are very surprising new pics of a partially undisguised C-class EQ. The body of the car from front to rear has some nice and interesting surface sculpturing and changes at the rear which seems to have curved hips running into the taillights. The D-pillar seems quite narrow, which is good as it doesnt make the rear end look so heavy as it did on the covered mules. The jury is still out about the rear taillights and boot design as well as the front headlights and grill. I hope it matches well at the front with the GLC style grill. It was predicted that the C-class EQ would have the interior of the GLC EQ and it looks like it will be true, which is a good thing as it looks far more upmarket than the CLA.

The C-Class EV looks quite different than the previous EQ design direction IMO.
The hoodline, greenhouse and boot are more upright with less front overhang. There might even be a slightly protruding 1990s style bumper on the front end. It has the proportions of a traditional gas-powered car compared to the EQE. The rear area, at least from the photos looks like it could get a bump on interior volume compared to the EQE. The door cutaway and glass area appear larger. With the notchback design, it should have been a liftback.

Yeah I agree.
Not seeing the "it looks like the EQE" line. Looks completely different.
The shape of the greenhouse oddly, feels more like the current LWB E class, but less square in the C pillar.
