Yup! and it should be pimping out an all new aluminum space frame so it should be quite a bit lighter then the current model. So not only comfort this time around but driving dynamics as well for all those who care.
As for the R172... I'm a little worried right now, it doesn't look low enough and the front looks huge.

It already looks like a female car....even with the camo on
However, I'll reserve my judgement since it's far too early to say anything yet.

btw, this thread is in the wrong place. The SLK is not a new Mercedes. Mods please move it to the SLK section....

Looks very small!
Reminds me a lot the R170, which is imo a very good thing as I loved it but never liked the 171 .

It looks they are using the body panels from the R171 for camo..lol. Mercedes sure has a lot going on, hope profits don't get hit too hard to delay all these cars.

Yeah, hopefully this is somewhat of a mule even though it might not be. I always prefered the squared off greenhouse of the R170 rather than the curvy one on the R171.

I guess they're testing a new engine. One that doesn't fit into the current front.

Hey guys this is important, look up what supercars insider from Carspyshots, MCLAREN_P10 has said about the next SLK, and take a look at the last line.

Styling for the SLK will take a new design all together, a clean sheet design as it is called! The styling weill feature plenty of classic Mercedes design cues, but very modern takes on all of them. It will remain a coupe-cabriolet witha folding aluminum roof. It will be slightly larger then the current model, and will offer several V-6 and V-8'smodels, and 2 different AMG models one witha twin-turbo 4.0 liter V-6 and another with a naturally aspirated 5.5 liter V-8 . the V-6 will produce as much as 479 BHP, and the V-8 will produce close to 550 BHP. Expect to see the SLK take ona SL-Class style front end also, with the classic single bar attached to the Pentastar emblem.

The SL will be a more evolved sportscar this time around with styling cues taken from SLS/SLC models, which will give the SL a direct tie to these models. It will again be a coupe cabriolet, while the SLS/SLC cabriolet will arrive as a canvas folding roof to keep weight low. This model will also feature butterfly opening doors, meaning alot like the doors found on the SLR Roadsters.

BMW M Division doesn't stand a chance against Mercedes-AMG's new engine line-up, theres plenty of power, and torque, all while these engines will be eco-friendly!!!!

Becuase of the financial crisis MB can only afford to give the car a new front end. It will have to make do with the old rear.

Two AMG models? One with a 4.0L V6 and a naturally aspirated 5.5L V8....I seriously doubt either.
