M3/M4 Leaked - BMW M3 Touring

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
It looks awesome in the flesh. The BMW stand was packed for the reveal, I was lucky to make it.

Sorry no (decent) pics but I'm sure someone will oblige. Did have a nice chat though with the M Product Manager.

Which was your preference of the two on the stand?

I think the thundernight purple with the pale gold wheels from the M-performance model, and perhaps some of the carbon pieces from the front, would have looked the best.

Neither! LOL. Not a fan of frozen paints personally.

When they were unveiling the purple I thought for a moment it was going to be Macao Blue but should have realised these were the two cars from the GRRC video with Queen B (aka Becky Evans).

I preferred the Brooklyn grey one from the Hill Climb, but Sapphire Black Metallic and the M Perf wheels from the safety car or the gold ones would suit.

I'd save any money on the exterior carbon or M Perf bits and instead have full leather, laserlights and carbon bucket seats or a nice individual colour. The M parts just a little OTT on the G8x, especially the exhaust.

Another shot of that grey one.

Guys and girls. The M3 Touring looks spectacular. No other BMW has an equally imposing, threatening and phat rear-end. Rear 3/4 angle is the money shot.

This is just stock! It will look like a tank once aftermarket fans add spacers, bigger roof spoiler and other bits. Most importantly, the muscularity of the rear provides a new focus away from the grille.

I expect the M2 to be more fun to drive. However, for sure looks and presence, this will be the M car to have.

Here are some of my photos.

Love it in Thundernight. I know in the background it's matte black, but it initially I thought it was a blue-gray color, and I suspect that shade would look perfect-o.

RETURN OF THE CLOWN-SHOE!

I was going to post I thought it was "Daytona Violet", but I see you corrected yourself.

I wonder if Daytona is going to be included as a special colour just for the Touring. Maybe one of the "semi" Individual options?

Just seen the pricing of the M3 Touring in the UK. It's "ambitious" to say the least. Normally the Touring version sit between the equivalent sedans and coupes, price-wise. But for the M3 Touring, they've priced it above the Coupe by around £1,000, at £83,470.

That's not steep. That's effing vertical. I would have struggled to justify paying that had I gone ahead with my order and not ordered a Taycan instead.

Before the pandemic, BMW list prices were irrelevant as it was easy to get 15-30% of their cars. Now that discounts are non-existent, cars like the M3 touring are actually more expensive to finance than a 718 GT4 or V8 Vantage.

Like everybody else reports this from AMS it’s a bespoke body based on the Concept over an M4 CSL but with more exclusive advancements to justify its price. It’s also sparse in interior luxuries and equipment.
Marketing is highly unusual for a vehicle of this calibre . Being driven completely by the client.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
