Jeremy Clarkson: "It's not a car. It's rubbish"

^Well said. I like the fact that you won't let Jeremy's opinion make you change brands. Enjoying someones work is one thing, but for those who believe Jeremy has all the answers are the ones I questions. Glad to see you go with what is right for you.

I long stopped getting mad at people who don't like my cars or the cars that I like. Hanging out with you lot for the last decade has made me remarkably tolerant of people's preferances and tastes when it comes to life's second most important and expensive acquisitions for the middle class public in general.

Oh come now! You know I am the kindest person to ever "type" in GermanCarFans, GermanCarForum and GermanCarForum. I show every brand the utmost respect!

In SA, the X1 is over-priced, small, has poor standard equipment and is not tough enough to be taken seriously as anything more than an urban pavement hopper. As an "SAV" it might be a success in the lifestyle wannabe circles of fashion-conscious urbanites but as truly useful vehicle it falls woefully short at the price.

Now now Martin, don't be so hard on the poor little newbie that is the X1. When has any BMW X-vehicle been anything more than a urban pavement hopper owned-or-leased by the lifestyle wannabe circles of fashion-conscious urbanites? ;)

There's much of what he has to say about the X1 in this column that is genuinely credible.

That I agree with...but throw Jezza the top of the range X1 and he'll be singing its praises. :D

i agree with jeremy clarkson. i had a test drive with x1 and 320d same day. i hated x1 as much as i loved 320d.
