Is this the iPhone 5? UPDATE: Apple introduces iPhone 4S

WOW I'm sold. I use an old NOKIA 1208 I think it has a flash light and it doesn't cost anything they send kilos of them in the company for free :D
My favorite phone was the 6300. I'm the person that cares less then anybody else in the world about what phone he has :)
I previously owned an Ipod Touch 2 then I gave it as a gift to my ex girlfriend. That's my only experience with Apple.
I use my phone only for calls and texting and the flash light is great :D But when I saw this SIRI video... WOW
I need this thing... it's amazing!!!! I just like the simplicity of my NOKIA but that thing might be very useful :)

However, a chink in Siri's armor, if I may call that especially given its nature as an innovation, is that it still prompts you to look at the screen. As a smartphone user, almost all of the times I am prompted to command my phone with my voice is when it is inconvenient for me to hold the phone in my hand, i.e. during fitness or while driving. Talking to the phone just for the heck of it will grow old once you are done showing to your friends, I think.

I'm sorry but you guys are a bunch of Apple fan boys. Are you seriously gonna tell me that specs do not matter (previous page posts). You're trying to make excuses for Apples hardware short fall. It's like saying that buying a 1.2 Polo is good enough to fulfill your need for Polo GTI. All it needs to be is ergonomical. Bull $hit. I bought a Galaxy S so that my phone has the processing power to handle multiple apps running in the background. I bought a Galaxy S so that my phone has this brilliant display so that I can be amazed by the picture quality everytime I use it.

And as for android, it's flippin amazing, it's better than Apple IOS cos it fulfills MY needs and much much more. As for all the core bashing there are customers who are actually tech savy and who know a hell of alot about processors and the like so hence their reasoning for buying these things. I mean who the hell in this day and age if they could afford it would not buy an i7 laptop and say it's fast for me so I'll buy an pentium 4. Samsung have the means to push the boundaries of phone hardware and I for 1 cannott wait to see the Nexus prime kick a$$ , should be soon now.

Please, Android is better because it fulfills your needs? And ios doesn't? Lol, get real!

Android can be found on cheap 100 euro Chinese tablets and phones. For that alone, ios is my choice. It's exclusively for Apple.
And there is no Apple hardware shortfall to speak of, who is the fanboy here again? The Android fanboy? You it seems.

People choose whatever they want based on their own preferences, be it rational or emotional, so this debate will never end and both sides will never admit defeat. It similar with sports, cars, anything so everyone please relax a little.

Yes ios is easier to use, the apps are designed just for ios so they are optimized for the phone, the software development and updates aren't fragmented, however when it was my time to choose a new phone, the iphone wasn't on my list simply because everyone has one, it freaks me out to see myself being surrounded by iphones, ipads and ipods everywhere I go. Also I do a lot of mobile web browsing so I wanted something with a proper screen size and can load a few webpages and run apps in the background without bogging down the phone. So for me it was the hardware first, and software second on my list because I am more than capable enough to use Android without suffering from a mental melt down. 2.5 months later I am still liking my SGII very much, everything runs super smoothly, I have no issues with updating my phone and the apps, no malware and I can customize the phone to the way I wanted it to. People bitch about the SGII being too big, they can't hold it properly or fit the phone inside their pockets well they will just have to man up.

I refuse to get into the Android vs IOS debate again, like I said it fulfiils MY NEEDS AND MUCH MUCH MORE which IOS cannott do Klier. As far as hardware is concerned Klier, sure it's no slouch. But ever since Samsung have launched their Galaxy range of phones and tablets, Apple could never quite match them. The facts are there for all to see.

So to get back to my original point, rumours circulating that the next Galaxy S3 will sport a 720p High definition Super Amoled screen and a quad core processor with 1'5 gig ram. I would like to see Apple competet with that. O wait, for you Apple guys phone spec do not matter. Sorry, my bad.

The new i4s has very similar specs as the gsII . Don't make it seem like they're not even close.

Samsung has anticipated the launch of the new iphone and released newer upgraded version of the Galaxy called the SII HD LTE, 1.5 GHz dual core, 1G RAM, 4.65' HD screen resolution. Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE - Full phone specifications

So Samsung has been inching ahead, the competition is a lot stronger now compare to just a little over a year ago and Samsung is increasing the pace of product release, they are releasing updates and upgrades every 6 months.

I rest my case.

I upgraded my iPod Touch (4th Gen) to iOS 5 a few hours ago. Well, as we already knew there's not much of a visual change. iCloud, Notifications bar and the "PC Free" features are probably the most important new introductions but there are a lot of small improvements and additions. For example, the popup description really helps especially with podcasts containing long descriptions.

Maybe I'm imagining but somehow the device now feels a tiny bit slower than before when reacting to commands, not by much but just enough that you notice. :t-hands:

Here's a thorough iOS 5 walkthrough:

^^^ IOS 5 is out?!?!?! Gonna check it right away, thanks for the heads up!!!

I rest my case.

You're the one who sounds like a fanboy to be honest ;) This thread is about the new iPhone, so don't come up with this Samsung vs Apple or iPhone vs Galaxy nonsense. Make a new thread for that.

O wait, for you Apple guys phone spec do not matter. Sorry, my bad.

Funny how you're making it sound all so personal. Come on dude, I don't even have an iPhone, nor did I ever have one. I have a Macbook Pro and an iPad 2 and I am very happy with both;)

Power is nothing without control.
A supercar isn't a supercar if it cannot get the power down to the ground.

Likewise the best hardware in the world won't yield proportionate real life results if the software is not taking advantage of the resources. It's said that the next Android iteration will finally bring hardware acceleration to Android phones. If it successfully does so then it will be great, if not then specs will still mean little. On my iPad 2 i play Real Racing 2 HD and the graphics are bordering playstation 2, with no lag, very low loading time and I can switch between it and another game without anything crashing. Software and hardware are in harmony.

Yup, Real Racing 2 and Infinity Blade are portable graphics monsters...

Downloading iOS 5 as we speak btw. Get to it Luw, I have already updated iTunes and set up an iCloud account :D

I just finished my installation. It has taken close to 6 hours. Downloading was agonizingly slow due to over burdened Apple servers. No problems with bricking or anything else though. Four finger swipe multitasking is awesome and so is updated Safari, now I can ditch my third party browser.

There is absolute chaos at macforums.

Now I need to go to bed. IOS5 has kept up way to late.

Downloading went very fast for me oddly enough, as I've had trouble with the Apple servers in the past too. The rest though, is taking quite some time. Backing up the whole iPad and restoring it again with all apps in place? Phew, I'm not even done yet! Almost finished, and I'm now reading what's exactly new. 200 new features. To me, iChat, multi finger swipes (like Mac), improved Safari and iCloud stand out.
Can't wait to see it. I love software updates and downloadable content :D

BTW, I should be sleeping too but all this updating is keeping me awake :( I have to go to the dentist in the morning dammit :D

The thing that still baffles me is why Siri is only exclusive to the 4S? It should atleast work on the iPad 2 which has hardware identical to the 4S.

I have had post 5 since this morning when it came out. There are a lot of ways to set up notifications on the phone as well as how you want iCloud to communicate with your phone. In addition, the wifi sync with the iPhone and your computer.

I like it thus far, but I am starting to get over it. I guess when it comes to iOS we always want something amazing and new. It is pretty much the same except it is improved. I do like the iMessage system that is in place.

As far as siri is concerned, I think we will have to wait and see why it is that siri is only on the iPhone and not the iPad. I can come up with a few reasons why, though:

1. It could be the ram that the iPhone 4s may have more ram (this is being disputed and we will have to wait for ifixit to take their iPhone 4s apart)

2. It could simply be the fact that siri is working on a phone that is connected to either 3g, wifi, or both. I understand that some iPads come with 3g capability, but since all iPhones have it that may be a reason, who knows.

3. It could also be that apple believes that siri is something that belongs on the iPhone since it serves a better purpose?

Who knows, we'll see.
