I might have a new car in four weeks

Truly sorry man - I hope it all pans out nicely for you soon. I want to see you in an M135i. That's a Just_me car!

Sorry to hear that man. I wish you all the best. Since you are involved in designing, did you try finding things overseas so that you can completely them remotely?? You can simply send that stuff over the internet. Yes???

No, it's hard. I have a connection within IKEA and I work for them for 6 months every year. Sometimes I help a company I used to work for but its just for a few weeks. I seek new jobs but they aren't many and when I find something there are 300-500 others who want the same job. So yes its tough business and you know the economy around the world isn't great right now.
I need some luck to find a full time work and I'm certain it will happen one day but until that day, I can just wait and hope it happens soon.

Just_Me, would you consider a Mazda 3 MPS? I think it produces around 265bhp, and because its not a premium brand you'd get a very well looked after example relatively cheaply. And IMO the interior is far superior to the Seat Leons. Food for thought!

I already owned 2 different Mazda's so I want to try a different brand :)
What about a Renault Megane Renaultsport? You will not find a single review in any automtive publication that does not absolutely rave about its ride and handling many saying its the best handling full-size hot hatch ever. If any further proof was needed a RS Megane holds the front-wheel drive lap record for the nurburgring! If you truly love driving you couldnt get a better hatch

Just buy a god damn S3, and we wont have these endless fights here ;)You'll be transformed to Just_audi instead ;)

Surprisingly, I have to agree with this. The S3 is a pocket rocket and it can easily reach scary horsepower numbers, just with an ECU tune from a respectable tuner like Revo. Price is right, and if the lack of RWD is not an issue, it's probably the best all-arounder in this class!

My thoughts exactly. With small amount of money, you can reach 300-320hp easy, and it does M3 times. I've checked this myself, since I'm keen on a 2008-2009 S3 myself, since the prices are really good now.
For 4900 swedish crowns (500 Euro), BSR gets you 315hp and 0-100 in 4.8 seconds.

Ha not everyone wants a car that handles badly (but is good looking) has a firm ride ( but a beatifully built interior ) lifeless steering ( but good residuals ) is expensive and knowing their car is just a posh golf ( aaand cant think of anything else good to say about the S3)

I want a car that is great looking, fast, safe, handles great in rain and snow, has a great quality interior, and has a great turbo engine. That is what the S3 is to me. So you can "haha" somewhere else.

Thats why I said "not everyone"

S3's ride is too firm for South African roads. Probably ok on smooth Scandinavian tarmac but then you may as well go for a 6 month old Megane RS or Scirroco R. S3 is old hat now, regardless of how well the Sportback version holds its value.

What about a low mileage, previous generation Focus ST with that sublime 5 pot Volvo engine?

There are plenty of 250 hp Megane (resale value is pretty bad for Renault) for sale but only one a single RS with 265hp for sale and the car cost more than a brand new Scirocco R. Let the first owner take the money loss, then its getting intresting.
Never been a fan of french cars and what I've read the ride is pretty harsh compare to other rivals and I'm not sold on the look either.

I never liked Audi A3 and S3 is old now plus it got not so good steering feel. I like the engine but its not enough.

Get off my back, mr "R8 is not a sportscar", aight? You are making a fool out of your self. There is a limit, and you just crossed. Dont piss me off.

Why what you gonna do? Kick his ass through the internet?

All Hofmiester did was express his opinion on the drawbacks with S3 (of course the fact that the vast majority of the motoring press shares that opinion is besides the point). Just cause you don't like to hear that doesn't mean you need to nerd rage and threaten him.
