Kudos to Rimac for posting a lap that, honestly, doesn't make their car look too great.
The positives, I guess, are that the battery actually lasted (as in, was able to supply full power) the whole lap - which is a first for an EV (the ID.R included).
You ain't seen it all until you have watched a tiktok video of how long time it took a guy to drink all the water in a glass.....using chop sticks. One drop at a time.I've seen a lot of pointless crap on the internet and this is way up there in the pantheon of meaningless human endeavour.
Well, the reverse on most cars is only geared to max out at like 30-60mph. But, if you geared it to max out at x km/h to be drag limited instead, there would be no problems. There is no reason for the gearbox to blow up.Back to science: would the gearbox in an ice blow up if you reversed at top speed for 30 seconds?
Always going forwards 'cause we can't find reverse.![]()

But ok, I guess this is one of those "coz we can" achievements.
And for those naysayers claiming that RImac was going backwards, well then - ha - joke's on you!

No. The reverse gear is straight cut (thus the whining sound it makes) and stronger, since it usually has a higher ratio than 1st forward gear.Back to science: would the gearbox in an ice blow up if you reversed at top speed for 30 seconds?
