how when it breaks, it's one more expensive thing that needs to be replaced. And unfortunately, it becomes necessity because it becomes a problem if you can't read how fast you're going or how much gas you have in the tank. With regards to "progress" being made, I feel conflicted these days.

This isn't a new problem though. My old E24 didn't have a working speedo, odometer or fuel gauge because of mechanical complexity and leaky SI board batteries. This was an expensive fix! There's always a risk technology will fail, and there always have been... it's never really stopped in it's own comfort zone - it's always evolved.

I was referring to the rampant addition of screens, screens, and more screens in the car, in the office, in the house, every-fricking-where.

Actually, when the windshield becomes a screen it won't be visible and you won't need any other screens.

If I were BMW l’d stop building concepts, we end up being disappointed. I don’t think the production cars are any where near bad looking, but they aren’t as good looking as the concepts, they would be better off without them. If BMW had revealed the Z4 without the concept most of us would have been happy.

The snozz looks better, there's more depth and three-dimensionality (is that a phrase?) than what we saw with the leaked pics.

That grille pattern is just a result of desperation. I can imagine the designers lookin at the front asking theirself f**k what went wrong here, maybe when we will mess the grille it will...
