GLC (X254) [Hot!] 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 2nd Generation - Early reveal!

The Mercedes-Benz GLC (X254) is the second generation of the GLC compact luxury crossover SUV range. Body styles: X254 (5-door SUV), C254 (5-door coupé SUV). An "electric GLC" (X540) marketed as Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology joins the range in 2026. Production: 2022-
Way better than the half-assed first gen.
It's gigantic for a "compact" SUV. Probably larger than the first ML and X5... maybe even the 2nd gen.
How big have cars gotten. 2022 brought us a Rolls Royce sized 7er and now the GLC and X1 are essentially old ML and X3 sized respectively.

It does look nice in spectral blue and silver in AMG spec. Alot better than the boring white.

If Mercedes wants to be seen as more upscale it's time to ditch the black wheel arches. It's time for body color to be standard across the board on all of their SUVs.

Connecting the headlights with the grill is so F30... :D

Jokes aside, it's nice, fresh, sharp it isn't, as MB continues the same design path which obviously is inspired from eggs. Overall, it's a good, non-offensive design, but nothing to write home about.

In this day and age of vulgar and busy designs, of basically bad designs, I'd take non-offensive over anything else, any day of the week.

I've only noticed just now, that the maximum speed for the PHEV versions, both petrol and diesel, is set at 140 km/h... What a joke.

I think every new Mercedes’ will be from now on. I’m waiting to see SL pricing in the USA.

Looking at the specifications, it looks like all the size increase has been put into the boot, a whopping 620 litres and just shy of the GLE's 650 litres, and not really used for front and rear leg room.

Not bad looking but lately Mercedes designers lack of innovative, every model with similar design make it look boring for the whole line up. Just my opinion.

I don't know about anyone else, but if the glovebox isn't up to snuff then the GLC can do one and die.
You are definitely joking, but listen to this:
My E39 has padded pockets in the door cards. All of my other cars, don't. When I got the E39 I was amazed at the lack of constant rattling sounds from keys and other stuff sitting in those pockets. Padded door pockets means less annoying noises, therefore less irritation, which translates to better quality of life, which in turn means a superior product.
The same applies with the glovebox.
:p

Coincidentally the same can be said about rhe XC60, Q5 and and X3. Their brand identities are unmistakable, their design traditional and perfect for a first time brand buyer.

The rumour has it that it is a lot more expensive than the previous generation.
Pretty much all new car models have noticebly higher asking price than their predecessor.

When I bought a Skoda Fabia in 2017, the starting price was around £13k, today it's £17,800
