I get what you're saying. My own experience is, that I have my phone (iphone) always on the pre fl charger and had never any problem with it, so far.

Most cars, wireless charging pad and phone combinations don't have this issue but some have. But it does happen. However, the last thing you want is angry customers booking their cars in for repair because of an overheating charging pad. Some even have vents and cooling fans. G-Series BMW had issues with this a few years ago.

Am I the only one who thinks the Facelift looks better, apart from the DRLs?

They're both good. IMO.

The pre FL is a design master-class in proportion and stylistic elements and detailing that are perfectly executed in the context of the surrounding sheetmetal and cut lines.

The FL throws this meticulous attention to detail for the sake of some gravitas and keeping in synch with fresher styling elements seen in the range. It still looks good in an overall context and has more presence as a result of the larger grill and flashier design.

The basic body-in-white and the proportions of the architecture are just fine IMHO. The visual appeal of more recent M-B's always seems to suffer significantly when poorly integrated elements are bolted,screwed or clipped on.
