Macan [Hot!] 2022 Porsche Macan (2nd Facelift)

The Porsche Macan is a compact luxury crossover SUV (D-segment) produced by Porsche since 2014. It is the smaller SUV from Porsche below the Cayenne. The first-generation Macan went on production from February 2014 with petrol and diesel engine options. In 2024, Porsche released the second-generation Macan which is a battery electric vehicle built on the dedicated Premium Platform Electric (PPE) EV platform.
This is the last ICE Macan generation. The new EV Macan is already in work/testing on a new platform, while an ICE new Macan is not.
This is coming from the Porsche factory.
So if you still want an gas Macan, buy this now. I think the resale value will increase on this one in 2023 when the EV macan will come out.

Didn't Porsche say that they will continue to produce the EV Macan along the ICE version. The resale values for the Macan is super high. Even the discontinues diesel variant is highly sought after.

ICE Macan will continue as long as there are demand for it. Not all people live in locations where EV is viable option. Given the current pace of Macan facelift cycles (every two years), wouldn't be surprised if there will be third facelift after 2023, the .4 version. Porsche just made the haptic touch center console for MY2022, would make more sense to support that new interior update for at least few more years after that along with introduction of PCM 6.0.

Still the only crossover I'd consider.

Macan is not a crossover though

Yeah, that will be the third facelift, with all new interior.

Was at my local dealers to drive a taycan 4S (meh) and my SA told me the same thing… electrification is silly.

Yeah, whatever. Nobody cares what you think of electrification. It's coming wether you like it or not. Soon for every Porsche and only that.

In the U.S., the Macan is definitely considered a crossover along with everything else in its class. Does your country classify it as something different?

Mid size SUV I suppose.

I guess depends on how you define a crossover. Generally, a unibodied car-based platform that's jacked-up like the MLB platform, I'd consider it a crossover.

So the X5 is a crossover too then?

Oh. I see "SUV" and "Crossover" being interchangeable at this point. The purists here would say SUVs = body on frame construction but no one seems to care about that particular distinction much anymore.

Fair enough, yeah

Given how poor the range of the Tycan is in relation of the cost of the vehicle, I don't have high hopes for the range of the electric Macan.

What's missing from the Macan range is a 2.5L plug-in hybrid.

Title of the thread made made think of this, lol

Specced to €111,000
The Macan is in a league own in terms of desirability. There is no shortage of people who are willing to pay mad money for it whether new or used.

It seems to tick boxes that are usually mutually exclusive:

Practical
Super agile
Comfortable
Easy to drive
Easy to park
Prestige badge

The only cons are price and space(if you put adults in the backseat or have twins).

Yep. Make an outstanding product…….

Porsche can seemingly do no wrong.

Last month, I enquired about the Macan at my local Porsche dealer.

I almost fainted when the sales guy told me that they have a 2018 used one with 20,000 Miles for sale at just $8,000 less than a factory ordered one.

It’s the cheapest of the Porsche models. With this model being a Porsche owner is accesible for a lot of people.
Is it a real Porsche? Well, I shall not start this debate….

Resale on the Macan is genuinely outstanding.

My mum just ordered a Macan S to replace her 2015 C250. She liked the ride height, visibility, quality and drive. The only major drawback for her was the lack of HUD which she loves on the C. Delivery will be in June hopefully.
