I can disclose that C63 customers were informed well in advance, that the C63SE W2‘6 would become a 4 banger hybrid.

Most of them even ordered another V8 because none of them wanted the 4 banger.

Do you guys think the reason why Mercedes is making an excuse for not fitting a V8 even in the FL C63 is because it would take most of the E63’s sales?

With that long hood? you can even fit an M279 in there & Now they gave us a inline 4 POS.

Just piping in as a layman: The issue is not about length (no "that's what she said" comments" please ), but rather width and height aka bulk, isn't it ? Dry sumps alleviate the height issue, I suppose.

Not at all, as I am no longer very interested in ICE technology in general when it comes to new and future vehicles. Only classic/historical automobiles. I'm stuck in the pushrod era, and those old V8s fit just about anywhere. Just being an inquisitive forum bystander.
