Both look absolutely gorgeous though so it doesn't even matter much. I am just bewildered by all the insane tech for the sake of it.

Weight savings not looks is what I’m talking about. I agree about the looks. The C300 I saw yesterday was absolutely gorgeous.

Ah I see yes. Well no BS can ever recover from this so don't get your hopes up. It's impossible and they are not even going to bother with a BS is my guess.
 
I totally had underplayed in my mind how visceral is the lack of the V8. These reviews made me feel less bullish on the prospect of owning one (certainly at a $100k price point).

I am hopeful E Performance will have better reviews on the S 63, where it is paired with a sweet V8. I get it that it is at least double the price, but that may be the ICE to buy ahead of the EV turn.
 
Yeah, but GT63 E Performance is notably faster than ICE variant in terms of 0-100km/h and 1/4 mile
Agian all variants of the GT63 are 4.0T 8 cylinder the C63 is 4 cyl. At the top end smaller motors will run out to steam.

Case in point; watch the Carwow video where they compare all AMG C classes in a drag race. The W204 C63 nat aspirated is the fastest over the 1/4 or 1/2 mile (I forget)

How hot this thing would have been with a 675hp version of the 4L V8 alone.

I love the modern take on these particular dashboard vents, as opposed to those clichéd "turbine" ones on other mercedes, which with the led lighting look like those big Chinese speakers.
 
I kinda like the wolf in a sheep appearance of the C63 S, it has discreet changes compared to other AMG kitted C class models. If only the engine was a V8 but that is now history and we have to live with this inline 4. Well next gen is EV and that will have totally artificial sounds inside and outside the car so at least with this model we have an engine sound.

So after all that complexity, it is barley faster than a M3 xdrive.
Also realized it is as heavy as a model S plaid which is in a different planet when it comes to acceleration.

Not sure what exactly AMG was going for here.

If it's been tested in recent weather conditions we've got here it won't be indicative of what the car can do. I know recently an English supercar was tested and elsewhere people said it was "slow". It was tested again and picked up a significant amount over the 1/4 mile.

I think it's best to wait for more data tests for comparison.

Hopefully the W207 will have the graphene battery pack from that Vision AVTR thing and charging time won't be a problem anymore.

And 400 kg lighter. Shocking when you think the last C63 was a sub 1700 kg car
 
So the imho interessting question here: Do we see peak weight here? I think so! The next gen C63S pure BEV with state of the art batteries will possible weight around 1800/1900kg if engineered correctly! So the future will be bright again. :p
