I honestly feel that AMG lost the plot with the hybrid system.

My personal opinion is that those cars will be forgotten with time, they are so hard to maintain long term as they combine high performance ICE and EV systems, yet they dont provide the best of both worlds.

Its just a bad spot for AMG until they totally transform to electric only power trains, gonna to miss those hot V8s !

The reviews have been mixed and mostly not positive on the new C63S. But surprising Matt seems to be ok with it.

Pretty impressive acceleration numbers:
0-60mph - 3.03sec
0-100mph - 7.31sec
1/4mile - 11.21sec

Electrification is turning cars into elephants and I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future when every car become electric, they (politicians) decided to charge tax based on your EV's weight and who knows, maybe they will even require you to have a truck driver's license to drive an EV with a towbar.

Anyway, I knew this new C63 would be rubbish the moment I heard it would be a four cylinder hybrid. Mercedes clearly never heard of KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid. They should have keep it simple; add more power to the existing four litre twin-turbo V8, couple it with 4Matic for added grip and... that's it.

The production sales will dictate the success or failure of any project or car because automotive is a business first and foremost. These reviews are exactly that not delivered figures.

But the driving dynamics and metrics will analysed for months. I agree it's a decisively dividing car.

So those are the numbers. I've yet to watch it but it's hardly "slow".

Frame by frame but digital speedometer readings ONLY quite obviously not GPS. The 100MPH time is rapid.

Hm. Poor engineers didn't for sure have the freedom to chose the technical solution. The CO2/EURO norm dictated it most likely ... i.e. the managers dictated it based on it. Like someone here noted: The lack of KISS, i.e. overly complex technical approach could turn out as a real long term problem ...
On the other hand: Let's just wait and see for the market reactions! Maybe there is a majority of AMG customers, who can get warm with this approach or eventually a complete new customer base?

On side note: I would estimate, that this technical complexity has its costs/price ... do we already have price comparisons between C63s and its competitors (BMW and Audi) in different markets?

At least for the UK, pricing has not been announced yet.

Yeah, but GT63 E Performance is notably faster than ICE variant in terms of 0-100km/h and 1/4 mile

So after all that complexity, it is barley faster than a M3 xdrive.
Also realized it is as heavy as a model S plaid which is in a different planet when it comes to acceleration.

Not sure what exactly AMG was going for here.

A turd of the highest order we have here. Almost as retarded as the Project One.
Mercedes is on a roll. Competing with BMW no matter what, and lately it's all about how to throw away 20 years of development lead over the entire industry. Hint: MB is winning big time.

On the other hand: Let's just wait and see for the market reactions!

I mean, does it even matter? It could be the best selling MB of all time and I will still say it's a freak car.
