I totally disagree, if there was a 6-cylinder Miata I would evaluate it against a 4-cylinder Z4 in the same way as this, but that's just my opinion.
What happens if the Z4 has to be a V12 and the SL a 4 cylinder, then this could be interesting.

That is a lovely colour and mag spec. I like this Alpine Grey colour it suits the C-class and new E-class so well.

What about that test car with hips.. I see no hips here?
Here are a couple of options, depending on the tone you want to convey:

Informative: "There aren't many cars designed with 'hips' in mind. Perhaps you're thinking of a concept car or custom design?"

Playful: "Maybe the hips are optional? What else do you remember about this test car?"

A Black Series would be a great way to introduce the V8.

On a similar note - there are so many available for sale here in the US (cars.com) despite the car just being available.

Even Akrapovic can’t save this car..

That makes no difference to the exhaust note it still sounds shite.

I would think if they start discounting them deeply, I ‘may’ by interested at the 50-55K mark, let’s say in the name of science :)

They should have retired the C63 name with V8 and made the C43 with the inline 4 the top model. It seems to be more popular.

It is also happening in Sydney as well, brand new C 63 sitting in the showroom, and car yard outside. MB sales messaging me openly admitting to the underwhelming market response, and that they are losing sales to the M3/M4. Apparently the general feedback they heard is that the handling felt heavy and slow.

The C43 makes a lot more sense.

What did they expect? During final development they have for sure tested the C63 back to back with the G8x! And it has a reason, that AMG added a costly rear-wheel-steering in this class. Not because they are very humble guys, but to compensate for its insane weight, which negatively affects agility ... thereby adding massive additional weight.
This happens, if the base architecture is already crap and you think your customers are brain dead simply buying the "it is F1 tech" slogan! They should have been smarter! If you do such a radical shift from a bespoke V8 to an I4 and additionally up the price massively, you have to expect, that your customers are irritated and have a closer look before spending 130k+ € (Germany) for a C63 successor. But if this "closer look" means, they are doing a test drive with a G8x or a RS5, the C63S is immediately off the table.

You beat me to it.. looks like the 4cyl is rather interesting. It’s almost like you have to adapt to a totally new style of driving to get the most out of it.

That said Matt does point out a couple of times how clunky the setup is where the rear doesn’t ‘talk’ with the front that seamlessly. Other than that the integration seems rather decent where user error like missing a gear isn’t completely detrimental.

This comparison was interesting. I thought the M3 would have won the races based on magazine performance tests (from AMS/ABSC etc,), but the new C63 SE really surprised me. The power delivery seems instantaneous off the line but then runs out of puff after about the 10sec barrier (where the full 680PS ends its delivery), it was quite a bit ahead of the M3 and then the BMW started realing in slightly towards the end of the 1/4mile. The in-gear acceleration is even more impressive, it was really quick initially when Mat floored the throttle and put a big gap on both Audi and BMW. The BMW seemed sluggish, like maybe the gearbox was slow to react.
