A-Class [Hot!] 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan concept

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. It has been marketed across generations as a front-engine, front-wheel drive, five-passenger, five-door hatchback, with a three-door hatchback offered for the second generation, as well as a saloon version for the fourth.
Quick and dirty photoshop without the 235/40 20's and the clown wheels... and some 18's from the CLA instead.

That looks more like it..my only major complain is to have a slightly larger rear overhang.

Whilst I think it'll follow the C in having a somewhat short, almost stubby rear-end, I do think the camera is shortening the car somewhat in some of these photos - stand closer and use a wider lens and you can knock inches off the front and rear overhangs - though since the camera is inline with the rear axle in that photo I used, I think they were (successfully) trying to shorten the front overhang with that shot.

What's the obsession with the vertical grill? Replacing it with the horizontal bar would make it a lot easier to digest this thing as a Mercedes. The silhouette is still very 'Mercedes' but as far as the front and back goes, they are moving too fast away from Sensual Purity 1.0. I actually don't mind the headlights, but the problem is that vertical grill they keep trying to make happen. It just doesn't carry a very strong Mercedes identity.

They should beware not to be like Hyundai/Kia who try to infuse others design elements into their design language. It ends up making the product look bootleg.

With all that being said, overall, I actually kinda like it.

The A sedan concept looks like a fat baby shark...lol. The rear light do not fit the car very well.

Color me somewhat disappointed. I had expected something a bit more...exciting.
Audis' A3/S3/RS3 sedan will remain my favorite in this particular segment, I reckon.

I really don't see whats so 'un-Mercedes' about it. Yes it is pretty radical but thats a good thing and may take a bit getting used to, imo only the tailights have a similar look to Audi/Lexus, plus being a concept it is naturally a bit over exaggerated..

The taillamps are indeed reminiscent to those seen on Audis', Lexus' and several other brands as well. And I realize that M-Bs' current "stacked, narrow" taillamps are a signature element of its' sedans.

But for me, I prefer the shallow, horizontal, "width accentuating" theme seen on M-Bs' coupes/converts and sportscars.

The CLA Concept (in 2012) was amazing. And the CLA is a little bit different. Let's see what will happen with the A-Sedan...

Looks really stubby and you know Benz will screw up the the nice tight headlights with something oversized.

Thanks for this useful comparison, which after seeing I am certain that the A Sedan would easily be the best looking compact sedan, the 1 series and Audi A3 look very stubby in comparison, whereas with this concept they have struck a really attractive balance of sleekness and proportion for this small saloon segment.
