Isn't the CLA already a cartoonish looking car?

The CLA is a 4 door coupe. It would be very difficult to pull off a sleek swoopy profile without looking anything but cartoonish to a degree.

The Audi A3 sedan is proof that a mature, classy well proportioned product can be achieved within the dimensional frameworks of this class.

The most recent videos of the vehicle present the vehicle in a much better light, but it's still not as good as it should be and my issues remain.

Those first shots of the red car, which almost look CGI like, have painted this vehicle in the worst possible light.

I hear you, but don't you think that the fresh and differentiated design language of the A/CLA from a classic Mercedes, is the reason for MB finally achieving success amongst young buyers?

I'm quite excited about this car..after seeing it several times it's looking very nice indeed, I can't wait to see this in production form..also @Wolfgang would you have any info as to why the interior is not shown?, getting really eager to see it..

So we're going to have a A-Class sedan and a CLA? Same relatation the CLS is to the E-Class? GLB and GLA too? I mean Mercedes is going hog wild with the small car platform.

I don't care how many variants they make long as the quality is there. The CLA doesn't even remotely feel, ride, drive or behave like a Mercedes. It's a complete bastard, an embarrassment.

Hopefully, this new platform will address these issues

Most people buy it for the badge so MB can get away with it. It is crazy how the CLA is almost on the same price level as the C-class.

True, but if these people don't know anything about Mercedes, and the CLA is their first Mercedes experience they aren't likely to stay with the brand IMO. I wouldn't if I didn't know how good their other more expensive cars are. A friend just bought a 2016 CLA with 20K on the clock and it's a mess of a car. Rattles and squeaks everywhere, uncomfortable seats, crashy ride, noisy on the highway, it's terrible. Yes for 35-40K a brand new CLS should at least match the refinement of a previous generation C-Class instead of behaving like an economy car. There is no Mercedes DNA in the CLA, none.

It is chubby and the rear is combination of Lexus and Audi. Plain from the side. I hope the production version would overcome the down sides

Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan production rendering still looks good

If it does look like that, what will happen to the CLA? It will have to have a different design.

Something else may precede it, as MB Passion was not permitted to take interior pictures yet. :)

This concept illustrates the new styling direction for Mercedes especially changes in the front light design which is much angular and sharper than the current Mercedes models. I am not immediately liking this new light design but maybe in real life it will look better. The front panamericana grill looks good but hoping it will not be used for all models and only AMG models to keep its exclusivity. The stubby rear end and especially the back lights make me think of the rear of the 190 series. It's different to the current Mercedes styling but gives hints to the past. I wish they would have shown us the interior that is something I would be more interested in seeing if it would show this car looking upmarket and new style for the younger generation

I actually am liking this concept more after seeing the premiere at the show of this stunning silver car which looks awesome much better than the red one.
