I am happy to see the 7 series finally has over 500 HP. Still hoping for an M7 though. If they can put it on the heavy X5 and X6, then surely they can put it on the 7. Give the S65 some competition.

Pros:
-Sweeeeeeeeet engine. Honestly who needs more than that?
-Technologically advanced, heck I think the 7er won an award for just that.
-Xdrive...based on a rumor that sounds overwhemingly true
-4-wheel steering
-Love the ceramic shifter/knobs...gives it a glassy, clean look that's unique to BMW

Cons:
-I undertand and am a fan of subtle styling to distinguish as to not having it stand out from its lesser brethrens, but it needs some different rims other than what's offered right now. Maybe these 21"

-Doing press pics in that white, may not have been the wisest choice
-The interior, while nice and personally more preferable than the S-class, doesn't do much to distinguish itself from it's lesser brethrens. I think any discerning plutocrat would care more for a distinguishing interior than the exterior, otherwise he'd get something more ostentatious i.e. Bentley Flying Spur. Just having an inlay in the wood veneer doesn't do much for me. Also, the stitching on the headliner is pretty amateur.

Now, if i had the money and means, would I get this or the FL-S600?
The 760i for me. While the redux on the S, makes it MUCH more palatable, I just can't stomach the blistered wheel arches. The 7er looks like it just hunkers down with some menace thrown for good measure. The lines are clean and not fussy. Otherwise, it would be a VERY tough decision. But, i guess I don't have to make that decision, and probaly sleep better.

PS: I just the saw the video in the FL S-class thread, and the Split-view on the s-class is just plain cool. Very trippy stuff there.

I love the interior shots of the 760. Overall though, I like the S Class better.

May be a bias from driving previous models though. I am trying to decipher the differences between this and the F01.

And while the 7 series is regarded as a status symbol, I have to agree the S Class is (still) on a higher rung, overrated or not. It's simply the who-came-first age thing.

Buy a Toyota Supra then, these are over 800bhp with very little mods. And significantly lighter and sportier to drive. Very few cars can handle a tuned Supra, especially for the price they cost.

LLS...You can put a chip in a Honda too, but that beside the point. BMW just needs to produce an M7(Actually the hybrid version is more important). Will they? I doubt it. Then again who thought they would do a X6 M and X5M........

I´m almost sure EnI told us about a M pack for the F01, so maybe is not very far. A F01 with the M pack and white LED coronas would be much better looking.

^ Yup, Eni has mentioned this M pack for the 7er too. I recall him saying that.
As for the LED coronas...that's something for the facelift of the F01. The first cars with LED Angel Eyes will be the whole 5er/6er family (sedan, touring, GT, coupé cabrio)

lets also not forget that 8 speed auto is incapable of handling any more power, so you would need alot more then just a chip.
