7 Series (F01) F01/02 760i/Li revelead

The BMW F01 is the fifth-generation 7 Series, produced from 2008 to 2015. The model range consisted of standard length and long wheelbase ("Li" models) sedans. Model codes: F01 (short-wheelbase), F02 (long-wheelbase), F03 (high-security), and F04 (ActiveHybrid). Production: 2008–2015.
Yes lets resort to rudeness..perfect

still my question stands..
*** is that car?

PS
I told you BMW was gay..no you even admit it:D..lol

Oh please give it a rest. Do you seriously expect any of us to believe that you give a flying fock if the 7er has LED or lasers or a lantern. If you are going to troll, be ready to be called one.

Eni, I seriously value the insider information that you and Scott provide here, and I hope you continue to. But can we have it minus the CM crap? It just makes the whole forum more vitriolic and less enjoyable for everyone except the trolls.

Unfortunately that's the part of the package.

Not you cause your ignorant..
If you paid attention you would have seen the praise i gave this car at its debut..and all through upto this 760 ( see the first page of this thread)
;)

Engine: Excellent
Styling: Not so Much

I am happy to see the 7 series finally has over 500 HP. Still hoping for an M7 though. If they can put it on the heavy X5 and X6, then surely they can put it on the 7. Give the S65 some competition.

Pros:
-Sweeeeeeeeet engine. Honestly who needs more than that?
-Technologically advanced, heck I think the 7er won an award for just that.
-Xdrive...based on a rumor that sounds overwhemingly true
-4-wheel steering
-Love the ceramic shifter/knobs...gives it a glassy, clean look that's unique to BMW

Cons:
-I undertand and am a fan of subtle styling to distinguish as to not having it stand out from its lesser brethrens, but it needs some different rims other than what's offered right now. Maybe these 21"

-Doing press pics in that white, may not have been the wisest choice
-The interior, while nice and personally more preferable than the S-class, doesn't do much to distinguish itself from it's lesser brethrens. I think any discerning plutocrat would care more for a distinguishing interior than the exterior, otherwise he'd get something more ostentatious i.e. Bentley Flying Spur. Just having an inlay in the wood veneer doesn't do much for me. Also, the stitching on the headliner is pretty amateur.

Now, if i had the money and means, would I get this or the FL-S600?
The 760i for me. While the redux on the S, makes it MUCH more palatable, I just can't stomach the blistered wheel arches. The 7er looks like it just hunkers down with some menace thrown for good measure. The lines are clean and not fussy. Otherwise, it would be a VERY tough decision. But, i guess I don't have to make that decision, and probaly sleep better. :D

PS: I just the saw the video in the FL S-class thread, and the Split-view on the s-class is just plain cool. Very trippy stuff there.

Like I said in facelifted S-class thread.
From now on I will start deleting posts that's not about cars. We need order again.

My popcorn is finished. **

I love the interior shots of the 760. Overall though, I like the S Class better.

May be a bias from driving previous models though. I am trying to decipher the differences between this and the F01.

And while the 7 series is regarded as a status symbol, I have to agree the S Class is (still) on a higher rung, overrated or not. It's simply the who-came-first age thing.

**Okay, Carry On-minus the befuddling.

(Raisinets, anyone?)

ONE little chip in the new 760i and the S65 eats dust. Standard 4.4 V8 (407 hp) in LUMMA edition already has 650 hp, and this new twin turbo V12 will have well over 700 hp with some tuning....

Lol amusing as always Klier, are u familiar with 65 tuning programs?.. probably not,coz u wouldn't be saying that line..:D

Back to the 760..:D

For the price of a chipped 760iL I can turn my old 450 into a spaceship with 1000+hp.
Is that really relevant?

Buy a Toyota Supra then, these are over 800bhp with very little mods. And significantly lighter and sportier to drive. Very few cars can handle a tuned Supra, especially for the price they cost.

The Scott is dead! Long live the (new) Scott!

:usa7uh:

Promotion is a good think. From investor relations assistant to chassis engineer to promo material maker to product marketing manager.

Quite a professional journey. :D Congratulation.

What does the new Scott do? Is he a he, or a she? When's he / she kicking in? Scott28?

Btw, IMO we'll need some new CM forces soon. Any volunteers? :usa7uh::D
How and where to apply? ;):D

Best regards, south

LLS...You can put a chip in a Honda too, but that beside the point. BMW just needs to produce an M7(Actually the hybrid version is more important). Will they? I doubt it. Then again who thought they would do a X6 M and X5M........

^ true, but that Honda doesn't have a brand new V12 ;)
But you're right, an M7 would have been more logical than X5/6 M. I am hoping for some sort of M package for the 7er. That would make me happy already; something like they did with the 3er and 5er M pack would be cooool :D

Sure, but it will be very easy to give this V12 significantly more power. And I have no doubts that we will see something soon enough for this engine....will be great.

I think they'll wait until the facelift. No reason to show all your cards at once. :t-cheers:

I´m almost sure EnI told us about a M pack for the F01, so maybe is not very far. A F01 with the M pack and white LED coronas would be much better looking.

^ Yup, Eni has mentioned this M pack for the 7er too. I recall him saying that.
As for the LED coronas...that's something for the facelift of the F01. The first cars with LED Angel Eyes will be the whole 5er/6er family (sedan, touring, GT, coupé cabrio)

Oh, and can a mod please change the thread title???? This looks silly.

Something like this:

Official: F01/2 760i/Li V12

lets also not forget that 8 speed auto is incapable of handling any more power, so you would need alot more then just a chip.
