Problem is that those unimpressed mostly care about the looks and that's saddest thing...
This car is much more than looks. Simple as that.

Well dont be blind and recognize that REGULAR BMW fans arent to thrilled by this..
so dont put the shit on me and luw..just cause 80% are unimpressed..
^ yes Sasha you are right, I mean we are enthusiastic drivers actually and usually women are more worried about styling. Or simply thats just me trying to justify my purschase of the ugly Panamera![]()

Before BMW fans begin making a Centurion Voodoo doll and poke it with needles, I'm critical to all cars. I've even slammed Mercedes for their new E-Coupe I don't approve of, quad fogs I despise, double slant bars on the new S600 etc. In other words I don't blindly fall in love with everything from Mercedes.![]()
I think it is very amusing that 750 Nm is regarded as way to little in a car like the 7-series...

Indeed. V12 engine in E65 760i produced 600Nm of torque, and nobody thought it was not enough.
And now 750Nm isn't enough?
Now when the new V12 TT by BMW produces more power than MB V12 TT - now MB fans started to complain about "insufficient" torque produced by BMW engine.
Typical.
Of course S-class beats 7er. It has LEDs, WOW!
These are exceptionally heavy and comfortable cruisers we're talking about. Torque has a much higher importance than HP. .
No one after driving a 760i is ever going to say "this car is slow , we need more Hp and Torque".

The 7er and the S-Klasse are entirely different competitors .
The BMW is the more dynamic choice and is therefore more sporty to drive, whereas the S-Klasse is all about the smoothness of the ride and comfort for the passenger.
Anyway the BMW V12 was offered to Mercedes-Benz but this was not powerful enough for their customers needs. BMW claims that substancial power and better efficiency is what premium luxury segment cars need more of today.
But they were not convinced.
Also a little observation for the Mercedes-Benz boys.
Do you actually like the E-Klasse or S-Klasse ? It's just that the comments raise to the fact that the car only works in the AMG Sportpacket to many of you , especially with the E-Klasse in it's intentional design without the sportpacket you seem to disapprove?
And now I have noticed the same comments regarding the base S-Klasse models , especially with the quad fog lights.
So what is it do you like the car in it's basic form or do you think that it needs the sport packet to realise it's intention ?
Otherwise the designers have failed whereas the tailors who dress the car in it's sportpacket have succeeded.
So which is it?
Enjoy your day.
But complaining and moaning on an engine developing "only" 750nm@1500-5000 rpm is just retarded.
No one after driving a 760i is ever going to say "this car is slow , we need more Hp and Torque". City and Autobahn driving will be effortless.
Three fully grown men should be able to enjoy a quiet and jerk free journey without the driving having to floor the gas pedal just to get the car to take off instantly with minimal engine noise and stress.
More torque = Less engine drama to get the car moving = less noise and less jerk = more comfortable ride
No one has claimed that 748Nm is minimal. The point is that it's a clear disadvantage over 830Nm.

Once again you're missing the point. Like I mentioned earlier horse power and rocket speed isn't the main argument for buying an S600, it's only you BMW fans that keep bringing up HP. It's a car bought for maximum comfort and convince with minimal drama and stress. Three fully grown men should be able to enjoy a quiet and jerk free journey without the driving having to floor the gas pedal just to get the car to take off instantly with minimal engine noise and stress.
