The 7G-Tronic supports all those functions too i.e S400 hybrid with star&stop and S500 4Matic. Funny enough the Flying Spur Speed and Panamera Turbo both produce torque in the same amount as the 760i, making the S600/S65 the only car of its kind. Very strange how torque seem to be a problem for most manufacturers

But the 7G Tronic does not support the torque of the S600 or the S65 either. Both those cars use the old 5 speed transmission (unless it changed with this facelift, but I doubt it). But yea, don't let the facts get in the way...


Anyway with 3 extra cogs and more power, I doubt 760 will have any trouble matching S600 in acceleration - but yea, I guess tests will tell.

I´m with you, these things are quite boring, and from both sides, I knew I would read something bad a about the 7G Tronic, when supports the torque of the S600 and S 65 AMG since the FL.

But this will always happen.

I said it was beautiful and gave it praise..something some of your BMW friends CAN NOT FORCE themselfs to give in the S class thread..
Instead they drumm up this car as it would be EXTREMELY diffrent from the rest of the 7ers..
So this is what you get.. ppl complain when your friends make to much noise about something not that spectacular..

That's right.
The appeal of the 600 (V12 badges) was hence considerably enhanced by MB for the FL: it appears you now have an enormous V12 logo appearing in place of the speedo when you start the car...
And that changes everythhing for the happy owner. But is a bit pretentious...

Does the 760 do that, too?

I find all these talks about power comparisons re all uncalled for, lol, its not like we're comparing the M3/C63, and besides (historically) the range topping 7er has always been less powerful then the MB equivalent, so I honestly dont see what all the fuss is about?
Like CW said, all the potential buyers of this car are hardly going to be interested in torque and 0-100 figures.

However, I do agree that for range topping model that we have waitied more then 5 months for, is rather underwhelming. Besides the exhausts, there isnt anything bespoke enough in the exterior or even the interior. Likewise, I dont see any major techological innovation as such that we havent seen before?

Anyways, it is rather early, and since this is a leak, I will give BMW the benefit of the doubt and wait for the official release.

I've even slammed Mercedes for their new E-Coupe I don't approve of, quad fogs I despise, double slant bars on the new S600 etc. In other words I don't blindly fall in love with everything from Mercedes.
